Gold blue sub

SA quit... don't care anymore. Bought a 124060 grey last night. 🥲
Nice collection you got.. however, why didn't next SA working at the AD offer/allocate you a 124060?

I have followed the same SA through several stores since 1997. I bought my first Rolex from the Boutique he’s now at in late 2017 after none since 2011. I called and asked for a BLNR and picked it up that day. When the BLRO was announced in March 2018 he asked if I wanted one, received it that December so previous spend was $8950.
Since then I have also received a black dial 116500 plus coral red and green OP41s. Relationships do exist and do matter.

Average Spend For a Pepsi??

I’m at about 47k in spend between 2 ADs and still no pepsi. Money is split just about even between the 2 and I have purchased all Rolex - no jewelry. Still, no BLRO. Haven’t purchased anything I didn’t want, but still, what I reallllly want I have not been offered (pepsi).

No. That's a scam. Come on.

Too many subs already. Not local anymore so I can't stop by to visit. I'll start over with someone closer to home.

Honestly the price of the sub was low enough to not deal with any BS. Also the only Rolex I actually want at this point is the Ti YM42 and blue or black skyD and some specialty ones that I'll never get anyway since I'm no longer local to the AD.

2. Diamond Earrings for my Fiance

3. OP28 for Fiance

4. Tennis bracelet for Fiance.

All of this totaling around $20k. I would say (and hope they would too ) that I have a very friendly relationship with them. Am I in the strike zone or just too far off these days? I've also heard about the rumored Pepsi production issues, so that could also been an issue.
That’s really low spend for a Pepsi IMO

Still an embarrassment to be in that position, at least in my opinion (and we're talking about a lot of money, whether it's relatively low or not). Just can't get my head around why anyone would do it.

Go grey - less costly in the long run. I had a 140k +/- spend history (20k in jewelry) and after 18 months I got a Starbuck (wasn't on my list). If I don't get one for my bday this month or one next month I'm done with ADs

Just can't think of a more effective way to ruin the fun & satisfaction of a new watch purchase.

My philosophy as well.

But now when I see, "I only buy from the AD," I'll read, "I pay more (in other purchases) and wait longer than people who buy from the second-hand market."
Exactly…unless you WANT to buy the other items, it’s ridiculous to me. Not to mention…YOU’RE STILL WAITING AT THE “CHANCE”

And prices on NIB on the grey market are coming down

All depends on the AD and as mentioned above - do they like you enough.
Then there’s this or the ones we read about here on TRF, who walk right in and get “lucky”, and buy something on the spot

Exactly! Then there’s the folks who’ve spent on things they don’t want and still no watch.

I personally wouldn’t, and don’t play with the AD’s. If I’m paying extra to bundle, get crap I don’t want anyway, I’m going grey for a NIB I’ll have tomorrow. If I want to buy at msrp, and I just tell an AD my interest in a particular watch , I’m fairly certain it won’t happen anytime soon. For me….time vs money, especially now that the playing field is equalizing a bit.

Maybe it has been different for others with this same AD. I can't speak to that. I do drop in every handful of months to catch up, but that's about it. I enjoy working with my SA, she is a joy. I'm friends with another guy who has been doing what I've been doing with this AD, and it's working out for him, too. My guess is there are a lot of variables, and they seemingly differ across the world. YMMV and good luck to you.
Sounds a lot like my AD

spending definitely helps and will shorten the wait time, let say from 5 to 2 years. you would eventually get one with some patience. but with the rumor that the pespi will be discontinued after this year, your chance may run out. at this point, just better to go grey

In a 4 year span I got the call for a Sub date and a Batman. The only thing I have purchased from them aside from those 2 watches is a $500 bracelet for my wife. YMMV

I do the same, and when I’m ready for another Rolex, I have no doubt that my SA will do his best, to get it for me. Yes, I’ve purchased other jewelry, but nothing I wouldn’t have bought, otherwise. I’m also aware that some don’t subscribe to the idea of building a relationship, with their SA, but it works for me.

I guess I got lucky.

I contacted an AD I had never done business with in September of 2020 and asked for the new 126610. Didn't expect to ever from them until they called at the end of November 2020 and had the watch I requested. When I went in to introduce myself and pick up the sub, I asked for a BLRO. Waited about a year but it showed up in October 2021.

No additional spend just asked my ad for one for a special occasion and my AD delivered on the next delivery.

I bought an air King end of 2019 when it was £4750 from my AD, then my wife surprised me 2 years later on Christmas day with the Pepsi.

This . I purchased a Sub date 10 months ago as my first watch from the AD and picked up my Pepsi Jubilee the other day. Just being a nice person will get you a long way. They deal with so many pushy entitled people daily that you want to be the person they actually enjoy dealing with
