SkyDweller TT vs YG on Oysterflex

Hi TRF Fam,

With an explorer II polar, a sub, adatejust, and a Daytona in my collection, looking to add one final Rolex (famous last words).
I've fallen in love with the Skydweller and this will be my next watch.

I love the TT black dial (I go back and forth between Jubilee and oyster bracelet) but I also love the colour scheme of the YG SkyD on Oysterflex. The common theme here is that I love black and gold.

My issue is with the oysteflex. I recognize the oysterflex is comfortable, but something about having a PM SkyD on rubber turns me off as it makes it way too casual. In an ideal world I would get it on metal band and switch to an Oysterflex for short periods of time.

Looking to see if anyone else has been in my shoes and how you all went about making the decision on which to buy.

SD on the jubilee for me. I would go SS and either white or black dial.

I have a TT white SkyD and it one of my favorite watches. I know I am in the outcast minority here, but to me, rubber on PM is ridiculous. I can’t justify the aesthetics or the price.

SkyDweller TT vs YG on Oysterflex

Well I say YG on oysterfelx by a mile. Nothing to think about for me. (I have experience with both)

This. I think it's absolutely criminal to wear a gold watch on a rubber strap.

Half of the beauty of a Rolex is in the bracelet.

Exactly how I feel. Bracelet always, even on a dive watch….

As the others said, the bracelet is a huge part of any Rolex watch and a solid gold watch on a rubber strap really makes no sense.

Skydweller

I would go with the TT jubilee with black dial, I have the watch with the gold dial and tt jubilee and unless money is no object, the rose gold on rubber strap is quite a looker.

I happen to like the OF and have the WG Daytona with it. Great watch. If you have a DJ, the rolesor version looks a lot like a DJ. The OF is very unique in the it works casually but can almost look like a leather strap with gold is unique. I understand the premise that if you are going gold, go all gold. In the end, get what you like best.

TT more unique and beautiful

Get it on an oyster bracelet. More sporty and fits SD better

Jubilee a bit old fashioned for me

+1 for YG SkyD on OF. Would have gotten one if it wasn’t so big….

For the price, I would go DD. Cheaper and you get a slimmer full PM watch with the awesome President bracelet.
