Yes I did the Part Ex with my AD, right before they became part of the CPO system.
I traded a 124060 that was 6 years old and and 116610 that was 5 years old, both bought at this AD, for a NIB BLNR on oyster, and a NIB VTNR on jubilee. Both were sold at MSRP $10,700 and $11,450 respectively. I received more than I paid for both of my Subs, and I saved the sales tax on the value of my trade-ins. So my net out-of-pocket was a little under $2,000 total. To me this was this was a no brainer. I got to wear 2 watches for years, make a little money on them, and get 2 hard to find watches at MSRP instead of inflated grey prices, for $2,000. And my AD makes money on both ends, so they were happy with the deal, and happy with me for the future.

Another one I have noticed recently is a common phrase to state how little something matters to the individual.

The British English would be, "I couldn't care less what people think of me." Literally meaning that this is right at the bottom of things I care about. American English seems to prefer, "I could care less what people think of me." So in the literal sense it would matter a little more given there is still room to care a bit less.

Anyway, my AD in England does accept part ex's (or Trade ins)

124060 only came out in Sept 2020... so cannot be 6 years old.

Sounds unlikely that you got that much for your trades, especially towards those 2 watches.

Correct sorry, typo. I traded a 114060 Sub No Date C and a 116610 Sub Date C

ND bought 01/2018 Date bought 04/2019 I believe.
ND MSRP was $7500, Date MSRP was $8550 I believe.

I got $1000/ per watch more than I paid for them in 2018/19 I thought I got a total of $19,000 tradein plus the sales tax reduction, it was $18,000. Plus I had to pay the sales tax on the remaining difference, so my bad.

So now recalculating, you are correct. By the time you take the sales tax reduction on the trade-in, it probably works out to about $4000 out of pocket.
Since I did these deals on 2 different dates in a few weeks time I got a little confused over the actual o-o-p transaction. I stand corrected. It was still was worth it to me.

In this case, the expression is the same in both countries. There are just a lot of Americans who basically slur through it getting it wrong. It is always "couldn't".
