I'm just sick over it...

I received my Mark Twain fountain this am in the mail, filled it up with Toffee Brown ink, the broad nib is super smooth. Set it down (without the cap on) and promptly knocked it off the table. The nib was renederd completely useless. Mont Blanc said it will have to go back to Germany for nib replacement and that it will take quite a long time to come back, like 6-8 weeks! Just needed to vent a little.

That sucks!
Very sorry to hear that man, but it will come back...it's not shattered into 10 pieces, so they'll get it fixed and back to you. Perhaps you just need a(nother) new pen to hold you over 'til it comes back?

What exactly constitutes "completely useless"? Is the nib still in one piece? Or is it snapped in half? Or has the feed been broken? Or is the pen in more than one piece?

If it's just a matter of a dinged nib, that can be fixed fairly easily without the need of a Rhineland holiday...

Geez, sorry to hear - that is not nice at all.

It's like scratching a new car, but at least people aren't telling you how glad you must be to have got that out of the way!!

Ouch! So sorry to hear about that - my hope is that you'll get it back good as new, but I know what a drag it is to have that happen. I am a complete klutz and have done much the same to many nice things.....

RS,
Which model is this? It looks beautiful. I just can't for the life of me identify it.
