Icon13 Does this 1680 case look suspect?

Look at the "E" it doesn't look good to me. Opinions.

Still undecided. I am looking at my 1680 as I type and it looks different. The Type loos off, could be the camera though.

I think the "E"s are ok, the angle on the crown guards also look to be OK, the back of the lugs show no wear for a 30+ yo watch, but I guess it is possible so IMHO the case is OK.

BUT the seller is not truly disclosing all as he states "YOU ARE BIDDING ON AN ORIGINAL 100% AUTHENTIC " but then he fails to mention the replacement (what appear to be luminova) hands. I think overpriced for what it is.

Thanks for the look Michael, I wasn't sure.

So after 32 years no one has ever serviced the watch?
(no watchmakers mark on the inside back of the case)
also the 1680 doesnt look centered.

I've had many 1680's pass through my hands and....

I've seen the "1680" between the lugs higher than usual, lower than usual, more to the left and more to the right. I've also seen model and serial numbers slightly tilted. I've also seen letters and nombers between the lugs that look like they were done by a highly intoxicated tattoo artist. Mainly on the older ones. Not quite the more perfect looking applications of today. The "E"s are correct with a shorter middle bar and the numbers look good...especially the "1".

Duster, I noticed the same thing on the case back. What also bothers me with the case is that it looks new. There are no end link marks over any of the numbers or fonts. From the pics, the would have to be one of the nicest cases in existence or ..............! The stampings/fonts between the lugs appear original though, but that is based on one photo. I'd ask for more pics if I was shopping this seller.

This watch could have been most of it's life in a safe or the owner wore it with a NATO strap . Many things can explain the lack of typical signs of wear .

What we have here is a watch that looks legit on the pictures provided , nothing more nothing less . That is ALWAYS the case on Ebay . I will never pay for such items without being able to hold it in my hand first .

I would need more pics too.
The holes of the case look strange, but maybe it is just the angle of the picture.
I don't like the font of the number "4" for this model.
