Booking Rooms in Vegas
I have read thru the thread recommending what hotel to stay at in Vegas. I guess my question is how would you go about getting the best deal on your stay? The wife has been working her a** off lately and is frazzled. We decided to take a long weekend at the end of March and go to Vegas. We were there once before 12+ years ago when the Venetian was just a frame of girders and the Bellagio was the latest and greatest hotel there. Our financial situation has changed a lot since then and I'd like to pamper the wife with a nice suite, spa, dinner, show, etc. I figure while she's in the spa I can shop for watches. We're not big gamblers so getting a comp based on that would be slim. Even though we can afford what we are looking for it's Vegas and why pay full price if a deal can be had. I'm thinking the Wynn or Bellagio. For all of those who commented on the other Vegas hotel thread, how did/do you find the best rate on your higher end rooms? Book thru the hotel direct? Online such as Orbitz? Thanks in advance for any info.

I think Wynn and Bellagio are great choices. Don't forget about Encore, either. Suites that are really nice, and if you get the right package you can get a pass to a floor with free drinks and food all day (and much of the night) long.
For the best deals without gambling comps, definitely comparison shop the various internets sites. Also, it's worth a try to call the hotels directly and see what they offer. Best of luck! |

Hey Chris i Priceline and orbitz and expedia have great deals....but sometimes if you go directly to the hotel they are more cheaper a little bit...Try booking hotels in the CityCenter... the new mall right on the strip...I have stayed in ARIA hotel and for me this is the most HIGH TECH hotel i ever seen!!! View is just AWESOME for standard room!!! Everything is remotely operated...curtains open, lights on and music plays....Just really cool..next march we will be staying at Vdara..a non casino hotel and its a new hotel also within the city center...here are pics from our room in the ARIA...

I got a great deal at Encore just by phoning them. Did a bit of research on their website first regarding rates then gave them a call and got a great deal
PS: can highly recommend Encore |

I have stayed mainly at the Wynn and have always gotten great deals right off their website. I have also stayed at the Four Seasons several times and found great deals on their website as well.

We also stayed at the Aria in January. We got a ridiculous price and even upgraded to a corner suite. The style is ultra-modern, which some will love, others might find sterile. As mentioned before, everything can be controlled by the TV (window shades, lights, temp, etc.) Even the bathroom had heated seats. Oh, and the Radiance watch store in the lobby has an extensive selection of high-end watches and they were having a sale at the time.
We just got an e-mail offering us another great rate. I suggest you call them directly and see what they can do. |

Use Hotwire.com.
Don't book until you arrive, hopefully you have a laptop you can travel with. I have also used their site with a smartphone with success. Last time I booked in Vegas, I got a 4 star for $49.99 (including taxes) and it was the Hard Rock!! Very cool place. Parking was free too! 5 star on the strip is ~$100 to $150 a night on Hotwire. |

Aria looks incredibly nice. I may have to check it out the next time I go to Vegas. I heard the new hotel, Cosmopolitan, is also gorgeous.

It's pretty hard to beat a Steve wynn Property. The Wynn is 5 Diamond. Went there 2 weeks ago. We stayed at the Luxor but went to the Wynn to check it out. Also, we sawe The Beatles LOVE Show....it was beyond anything I could ever imagine. If you remotely enjoy The Beatles Music, check it out! Truly amazing! GL

Well, I'd like to thank everyone who put their 2 cents into this thread. We wound up staying at the Aria and it was absolutely wonderful, just like those who recommended it said it would be. We had some awesome meals, and wound up buying some art in one of the galleries, (we needed to fill a couple walls in our new home). The wife got her spa day and I got to gawk at some beautiful watches. We never wound up doing a show but plan on going back soon and taking in one or 2. I lurk here more then post and I found the consensus on the no discount rule in Vegas was in full force. Every salesperson I talked to was quick to point out I'd save sales tax by having them ship it home but outside of that the price was the price. One of the watches I am really interested in is a WG meteorite daytona on a bracelet. Saw quite a few on straps but only one on a bracelet. I have heard some ADs will discount precious metal watches but I figured there would be no way on a daytona and I also wasn't ready to commit then and there so why waste the salesman's time. Over all a great trip, thanks again for all the recommendations!

Book online via a travel site, and also compare prices at the hotel's direct website.
I will be in Vegas this week, for a convention. Weather looks awesome!
