Another 16750 question

Oh wise ones:

Are 16750 service replacement cases and 78360 replacement bracelets made from 904L or 316 steel?

Thanks

Good question one has to assume they were made back when the 16750 was in production with the 316 steel. As for the bracelet, take a look at the clasp code and look in TRF Reference Library for the post on decoding bracelet clasp codes and see when the bracelet was made.

I'm not sure if your a cowboy or one of Charlemagne's 12 warriors, what I do know is you sure are up to speed on vintage Rolex as you've nailed two out of three of my Q's. It turns out my bracelet was made in May of 96 (S V5). I'm assuming 904L. As for the service replacement case, TBD.

Thanks again my friend!

I have learned a LITTLE about the vintage GMT's thanks to all the experts here on TRF. Cant tell you a thing about vintage Subs or DJ's. I am looking to buy a DD this month for my 50th BDay so I am trying to study up on that model.

That is a big part of the pleasure of vintage...the challenge and satisfaction stemming from the research and education that comes from correctly collecting vintage....make every effort to know what you are doing. If you doing know, ask and learn. Once you learn, pay it forward and help others learn.

Enjoy your watch... I guarantee you it is not your last.
