the #5512, 1961 "re-painted ''silver'' original "gilt!

follow up on #5512, "re-done silver track" to original "gilt dial'! as you can see from this very close up picture, the "silver track" was re-done over the orignal dial, with lower level gilt paint still intact! it shows, a 'differant font' to not only 'chronometer certification', but also the "non-factory font style" on depth rating on meter/foot depth! i want to thank all again for helping me get this found out! it pays to "get expert knowledge" from the experts here!
dad always said,,,, "knowledge is power"!!
(special thanks to 'steelerfan65',,,)!!

its still a beauty and you can source an imperfect dial down the road. i think many of the posts in reply to your initial were constructive. the guys wanted to let you know that if you paid mint money you should have a legit gripe with the seller and maybe get some cash back. regards, harry

no "re-fund needed",,,,heck i never look backwards!!

"IT's the knowedge harry",,,, i knew something was up with that 'goofy' meter and foot 'font'! i just thought i may had found a "push it thru" dial mistake from rolex! i knew the gilt was right! it was that " holly grail" lotto thinking,,,did this get by thought? heck i wanted to see if i could get in the "black out submariner" #5510 bracket!? but,,,michael reminded me that's to good to be true fact!! anyway,,, i paid as much as a nice 2 tone datejust would cost used!! so were in good shape there! besides,, i'm excited to own it and show the folks whats "what',,, how many really #5512's 4 line dials in gilt are in the world for sale? less then #1665's red with "papers' i bet!!

it's a honer to own this watch,,, heck,,im leaving it looking like it is,,,
"THAT DRUG BEHIND THE CAR LOOK",,,,,!!?
REMINDS ME OF MY FIRST "WIFE"!! after the "alimony verdiic"?

its a very cool watch as-is. getting a old school dial with some dammage likely wont cost too much and they are out there on ebay.
