Glasshutte Original
what do TRF members think of Glasshutte Original? Do movements function as well as they look in terms of reliability and accuracy? They seem to be a good value e.g. hand date

Beautiful watches. The quality and finish on their movements is amazing. Hoping to own one myself one day.

G O are fabulous. I have four in my collection. Their famous big date is a unilevel two digit , which functions more satisfyingly than any other Big date I know of. The movement quality and finish is exceptional, as is everything else.
I have the Sport evolution,Two Senators,( perpetual calendar in Platinum and Calendar week in RG) and a Panomatic Lunar. Reliability and accuracy is second to none. Here are a couple of movements to look at The PC, Panomatic This is their uni-level Big date; Compared to Lange's which was actually a JLC design, which was handed to Lange, shortly after JLC designed a much better one. There are many times I would have bought a Lange, IMO their overall movement finish is slightly better. But I could not live with that two digit date after the GO perfection. No offense to any Lange owners. I happen to think that aside from the date issue they are probably the best watchmakers around.

GO makes great watches and movements. I've never had a bad experience nor have I heard anything bad about them.
IMO it's not an ALS but it's not far off. |

Great pieces, fabulous movement finishing and surprisingly good value if you buy used.

Great info about the GO date mechanism. This may explain the big jump in price when a model has the panorama date.

An under the radar WIS brand with amazing finishing. Truly quality watches when you get a chance to hold them, but that don't feel like they need to be babied.
Was in the market for either a Panomatic Linar or Senator with Power Reserve Display (the latter has a gorgeous guilloche dial), but in the end, the elegance and simplicity of the Senator Automatic won out. You won't regret buying one. |

That hand date is a real beauty.
I had a Sport Evo that I sold mainly due to the size and weight but I loved the watch
