In heaven, what watch will you wear?

So, a guy I knew died recently and found himself in front of Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates of Heaven with 2 other dead guys.

St. Peter said, the good news is, you three have made it to heaven. And sure enough, the three men looked out through the gates at golden roads and crystals palaces. All were relieved.

BUT, St. Peter continued, the way it works up here is, the more loyal a person was to their spouse - man or woman - the nicer watch they will wear...for eternity. The more you cheated, the worst watch you will wear.

So St Peter...well, let''s just call him Pete..called the first man into the interview room and asked, how many times have you cheated on your wife? The man, about 40, thought a bit and proudly said, I have only cheated on her 3 times. Not bad, Pete replies, and with a snap of his fingers the man was wearing an Omega Speedy.

Smiling, he left and the next man came in. He was in his early 60's. He confessed he had cheated on his beautiful wife of 30 years only once, at a sales convention. Pete nodded in appreciation, snapped his fingers, and the man was wearing a Platinum Daytona.

The third man entered, a bit wobbly as he was in his 80's. In answer to the question he replied, "Never. I never cheated on my wife of 60 years." St. Peter said, look, maybe you didn't hear the question correctly...the man quickly responded, "I never cheated on my wife; we were devoted until she died a couple years ago." Impressed, Pete snapped his fingers and the elderly man was wearing a Patek Grande Complication minute repeater.

After the 3 men were processed, they found themselves in a glorious ballroom, with harp music in the background. Men and women were dancing and admiring each other's timepieces.

The man wearing the Omega saw the elderly gentleman in a corner of the ballroom sobbing. He asked, what is wrong, dear fellow, you were given the nicest watch in heaven? The gentlemen replied between sobs, "I know, but I saw my wife, and she was wearing a beat-up Timex."

Yes, that is the punchline. His wife cheated on him a lot, and he had no idea. Sorry if it was not clear to some. Thanks for spelling it out for those who did not get it.
