You must be wearing it too loosely....

That being said, my 114060 doesn't squeak on or off the wrist.

Bad idea. The oil would attract dirt and grime like a magnet. It would also leave your wrist a slimy mess. Why? The bracelet link squeak is a sign of tight manufacturer tolerances. It is a good thing, not bad.

A bracelet will always keep on squeaking - unless it's dirty (fat, skin, etc).

Squeaking = clean bracelet- :) Just as simple as that.

A 10 year old bracelet will start squeaking - if cleaned properly.

That isn't true. There are enough OCD watch washers on here and 'the squeak' is only associated with newness and bracelet stiffness. My 16710 still has stiff clasp blades, but I've never heard a peep out of it.

My new SubC has never squeaked. Not once. Maybe it wasn't actually new?! Mind blown....

I actually joined this forum to learn more about this. I bought a gmt master ii, 116710ln from 2009 a few weeks ago. Its in great shape, looked like it was barely worn. Had service papers from 2015 as well. The bracelet squeaks a lot! I've isolated where it's coming from (the last links on both ends that touch the lugs). I've washed it with soap and water and the sound goes away for about 4 days, then it comes back. I wear this watch daily. It's kind of aggravating.

Spray silicone lubricant on both sides of bracelet (aim it in the links). No reason to get it in the end links, it's harder to get the excess out. After spraying the links, move them back and forth to work it in good. Finally, use a toothbrush and regular soap and water to clean the bracelet and remove all the excess. Bracelet will be silky as can be and no squeak. Yes, you can use a soft toothbrush, yes you can use silicone. That's what the watchmakers do to solve this issue for customers.

Yes, as said it's the "new car smell" of a Rolex. I think the squeak is what gets me so excited about each new purchase

Nothing is needed to be done and all is completely normal

I respectfully disagree with your comment.

I got my LVc new from an AD with all the stickers on (just delivered from Rolex Toronto) and it did not squeak even once.

I agree. Squeaking doesn't mean a clean bracelet. When I clean my bracelet thoroughly, it STOPS squeaking. A few days later (arguably the watch is dirtier), the squeak comes back.

Perhaps it's not completely dry (the small mechanisms) when it doesn't squeak?

Most of the squeak I've ever noticed was from the clasp workings, not the bracelet links. The squeaking will stop as the watch gets more wear and use

I recommend accidentally spilling gravy on the bracelet and rinsing it with hot water - squeaking gone - it worked for me :-)
