Where to source 78360 permanent links.
My current 78360 is missing 1 permanent link on each side (2 total) from the previous owner. Does anyone know where I could source them? It currently fits great; however I am trying to return it to it's factory condition. Thanks in advance!!

Are you sure you're missing a permanent link? Meaning a link without a screw in it. On the 78360 there are only 4 permanent links on each side of the clasp and they come in one single piece from Rolex. The part number is 32-20683. Anything beyond 4 links on either side should have a screw in it or be the link that attaches to the clasp.

Ya unfortunately I only have 3 permanent links on either side. I am not sure if the previous owner had very small wrists and had them removed or had some other fitment issue. Currently, I have 2 extra removable links to make up for it, but would love to get it back to being "stock." I am wondering if it would be more cost effective to try and order that part number from my local AD or try and find the permanent links themselves. Thanks for the response!!

I've only ever seen permanent links for sale once, and I don't know which bracelet they're for.
You might do better looking to swap bracelets with someone who hasn't yet removed their permanent links. You would probably need to kick in cash on that trade though. I remove one permanent link on every five digit watch I buy. You would need an absolutely tiny (like sub 6 inch) wrist to need two removed. |

Yeah, I think it's going to be a losing battle trying to replace those links. They're not really meant to be removed and reinstalled so there isn't a market for them. You do sometimes see sections of permanent links from clapped out bracelets for sale on ebay or you could send the whole bracelet away to have the length restored by a pro.
The guys who restore these bracelets put them back together using larger-than-original "pins" to hold the pieces together and I think I remember that a forum member once used an epoxy like JB Weld to put one back together. |
