Wow, that watch looks thrashed.
I still don't get how lighting and camera angles can hide this much stuff (maybe he used photoshop ??)
Anyway, can't wait to see the final results.

Cleaning her up went well today. got the bezel finished and were we'd like it. Had a heck of a gouge in it at 11 o'clock that needed a fair amount of attention. Case and bracelet are just about done, surprisingly the caseback took the most time as it had numerous scratches in it from being set down when taken off making contact with the bracelet. I'll update more pictures tomorrow when we get it finished, but considering where it was when it came in, it'll be a whole new watch when it ships back out. -William

Looks like any debate about the actual condition of the watch can now be put to rest. Kudos to William again for the gentleman act of kindness.

Agreed! Here here. Looks like the seller totally finked out on the buyer by not responding despite logging back onto TRF. Sad.

Just glad you will have a like new watch in the end. Just sad that it took the generosity of a fellow member to get what you thought you were getting in the first place.

Nice job Ken doing the right thing here.

I have been following this saga since day 1, and I am really pleased it is reaching a happy conclusion, thanks to the generosity of William L. I'll raise a glass to you next time I have a beer. Cheers

Very interesting case......really does demonstrate how a picture whether intentional or by chance, can differ from reality!

I know you are not looking for praise or gratitude, but I wanted to also add that its a kind and awesome thing you did.
KUDOS to you.

I enjoy how a 3rd party got the chance to take a look and photo the actual condition to prove the OP's concerns. Glad this is seeing a positive end.

Sorry for the delay. I've been absolutely slammed at work, and had an award banquet to attend for college and my graduation. She's all finished and we'll be shipping her back out this evening. She came out really well considering how deep some of the scratches were once we got into it. I'd say she's 99.99% now compared to what we got when it arrived.

Here are a few pictures of the final result.

Looks great, way to go William! Great way to keep this forum at the top

Gotta say, I waited till the end to see how this played out.
I've met Bill before at a small GTG (with Chad). I got there late and only had a couple beers, but I wouldn't have guessed him to a) misrepresent or b) hide over a couple bucks. Really unfortunate.

OP, glad it worked out in the end for you and hopefully your "new" piece will be enjoyed to its fullest

Not yet. I want Thomas to get the watch back on his wrist before we close this, and I'd like to get a minute to type out my thoughts on this, and update some other info here for the forum about myself before we close the door on this one. It's all good stuff, I'm just on the road at the moment and can't type it all out.
