Hi guys!
I returned home last night after a white knuckle ride down I-75 interstate, bumper to bumper (definitely a parking lot inching forward in spells), 50% of traffic was trucks: tankers, van trailers, reefers, car haulers, many electric trucks from several states including Canada - all in a snail's pace heading south. Several traffic evacuee fatalities during travel down that stretch. Fuel was not a problem over the distance I travelled.
Irma did not add to the misery my property sustained with hurricane Matthew. Lots of debris, no trees down, no flooding, no looting -- thank God. I definitely have Guiding Angels!
Hope everyone who faced Irma is OK.
Blessings,
DM

Thank you Gaijin:
Just another notch in my belt. Feeling so very grateful.

Feel sick to my stomach for the suffering people go through because of disasters that wipe out their lives.

Today, 14 September, MIA is at 66% for flights (aprox. 629) includes cargo. Expect pretty good improvement every day. Yesterday was at 50%

FLL is about the same or better but still both have cancellations. Check with your carrier

EDIT ^

Gald you made it safely and everything was okay. No major damage for my in Miami Beach but I'm just going by the building management is saying. No immediate plans to go down until there is power and those that need to get down there go before me.

Thank you. I didn't have it in me to tough it out as we were in a mandatory evacuation zone... too worried about potential storm surge. If it was just me, I may have had a harder decision, but with 3 of the sweetest pets alive, it was not an option.
