Having lost everything (with an exception of a few photos) from the first 16 years of my life, due to a war, and coming close to "the edge" myself and members of my family, things take a different perspective and priorities shift.

They are just things. Even *if* they get lost or damaged, they are things.
Even family heirlooms. Sure, it would be so sad and irreplaceable, but things like that live in memory.

I've lost many things in this life, whether i lend them to others or lost myself and i'd do it all over again. Bike, car, watches, jewelry, purses, cameras, lenses. They are things and most of them can be replaced with the other thing, money.
And if they don't, as long as NOBODY GOT HURT in the process, it's all good.

But luckily, we are all different :)

Well said! My dad always would tell me ‘things’ are just ‘things’ they will come and go, memories are with you forever good or bad, so try to only make the best!
