Thanks for another fascinating thread Rob. Great work. I wonder if Alex Clark and Alexander Clark of Shanghai (pre-WWII) were one and the same.

Thanks Adam, my pleasure! That's really cool; that's gotta be the same Alex Clark right? We talk about how "the world is flat" now but sometimes it's impressive how "flat" the business world already was 100 years ago!

Yeah, if you look closely at thise dials there is a full stop after Alex, so "Alex." would be an abbreviation of Alexander.
