While I still have my 1970 Seiko I bought in college (in the mid 2000's), my collection past that has been Rolex and thus I would say I am a Rolex only guy. Mainly because there are so many great watches in the Rolex line up that I always found myself coming back to a Rolex.
At some point I do intend to expand my collection past Rolex. |

I am a Rolex only guy.
I like a number of Rolex models, enjoy SS, gold, and TT, love giving each of my Rolex watches decent wrist time, and there's just not enough days in a week to leave me wanting for another brand.

I have never really found interest in getting another watch besides Rolex.
Not that I don't like other brands, I just wouldn't buy any of them. Rolex for me have such good looks and resell value that I don't look elsewhere. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk |

I'm a Rolex only guy. I didn't start that way, and I've owned many watches from many brands. It just came down to Rolex checking all the boxes for what's important to me.

Nope, no longer an exclusively Rolex guy, and probably never will be again. There are too many great manufacturers, including micro-brands that have great models. The movements under the hood may or may not be as robust or reliable, but at the end of the day they make be smile as widely as Rolex.

Being a Rolex only guy?
I bought my first Rolex nearly 20 years ago after always wanting one and it went away about 5 years ago (long story I posted on here) and have a few Tag Monaco’s but the Rolex bug never went away and I missed it. There are a few IWC and Panerai models I have also wanted over the years but knew if got one it still wouldn’t fill the void. I pulled the trigger on a sub a few weeks ago and now feel freedom (silly I know) to finally get the IWC and Panerai I want as well as another Rolex (GMT or Daytona next on the list) now that my anchor (pun intended) watch is in the collection.
There are definitely some Patek, AP and Vacheron pieces I would love to have but unless something drastically changes and I have crazy amounts of disposable funds, like hitting powerball, I can’t even imagine spending that kind of $$ on a watch. Funny thing when in was at an AD looking at a Sea Dweller my wife gravitated to their Patek section and tried on $90k watch, the salesperson was super accommodating which was great, but when I told my wife how much it was she almost fainted lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Well, I own 7 different watch brands now: Omega, Rolex, Zenith, Panerai, H. Moser & Cie, Patek Philippe and Nomos. The Explorer 1 is my only Rolex. Over time, I have been down to no Rolex in my collection, but I keep coming back. SD43 is now on order.
In conversation with my AD the other day, we both agreed that Rolex is one of the best values of any brand. Also, if I had to own only one brand it would be Rolex. There is enough versatility within the brand, to give me a good variety of models, and sizes, to suit any occasion. I like every model from the OP34 to the SD43 and even the Deepsea 44. Obviously, I would have to sell a lot of watches to be a Rolex only guy. But the fact that it is my number one "if I could have only one brand" is saying a lot. Cheers, Carl

I am considering an Omega Seamaster in the not so distant future. That would change in a heartbeat if I could get ahold of a Hulk from an AD.

I started off with Rolex only but now have one Rolex, a Tudor, a seiko and 2 omegas (and a g shock).
There’s loads of good watches out there. I like Rolex watches but the others make me smile just as much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well, I often wear a DD40, which is now my only Rolex. But I also wear other brands, and inexpensive Citizen quartz too. Variety is good, inexpensive can be good. Just Rolex is a bit limiting. For me, anyway.

I keep coming back to wanting to add the 50th Anniversary Sea Dweller.
Then I think what about a Patek (really like the Gondolo), figure it would be something different and a nice dress watch - then I remember I have a DD, and that serves as a pretty nice dress watch. Then I end up back at the 50th Sea Dweller again. |

I think i feel the same, a AP 15400st would be a nice one maybe but for now i think Rolex is a better choose for ME... Most durable, cheaper to service, strong iconic design won't be burned to much when i decide to sell later on etcetcetc

I am Rolex and Panerai or Panerai and Rolex depends on mood. Besides I enjoy other brands especially Seiko.

I was a Rolex guy 100% for years. Then the blinders came off. Partly becyse of the shortage and complete disregard Rolex has for their AD's and customers. I found a whole new world in GS and Seiko. Now, I actually laugh at much of what I read on the Rolex sub section. And embarrassed that I thought the same way.

Probably the most satisfied I have ever been with my collecting was when I owned a SS Submariner and a YG Daytona. I had a G-Shock for work. I went a long time and desired nothing else. Then as I became more informed of the brand and other brands, I started to expand into Panerai, Omega, IWC, JLC and my latest, Grand Seiko. I have consolidated several times over the years but I always go back to more watches. It does appeal to me to only be a Rolex guy but there are so many other great watches out there I don't think I can be limited. The only way it would work for me is to get a few Rolexes and then stop any viewing of watches or other information in the media. Not going to do that, as it is my hobby and a true passion. So, on and on it goes.

Nothing wrong with favoring Rolex, I do. (3 Rolex, 1 IWC, 1 vintage Omega)
Rolex makes it easy to be the favorite IMO. Durable, reliable, and look great. Been on the hunt for the right AP 15300 blue dial though, which is getting harder and harder. As soon as I find the right one I'll add it.

I think, in pure aesthetics i still like Breitling as a brand but the resale value in combination with a sort of changed taste leaved me that brand long go... |

I’m a Rolex only guy! It’s almost like an anxiety for me trying something else and not liking it so I stick to what I know

I like abit of a mix. Seiko, Tissot, Tudor, G-shock. Different watch for different occasions. ;)
