Yacht master 2

I’m not sure if this question belongs in this room . Admi delete if it’s not in the right place

I know stainless steel sports watches are pretty much impossible to find at an AD. Why is it only that the yacht master 2 in stainless steel so easy to find ?

I will assume your serious and say that the demand is not as strong as some of the others...

I have many examples I would like to share but alas it’s time for bed.

Yeah the demand isn’t high plus the original price is high . You can buy two watches for that price. Lol

A whole bunch of folks will say it's too big or too flashy, but I think the reasons are it's expensive and the countdown complication is viewed as having limited practical value.

Well as stated by these forums, the watch is "ugly" and has a "useless" movement.

Don't forget the huge YACHT-MASTER II on the bezel that you can't even see until you're basically in time telling range of it

If you like it and no one else wants it, you're in the best negotiating position ever. So haggle hard, make them beg you to take it home, "do them a favour" if in exchange they can provide you with a Pepsi at MSRP (if you intend on getting one). Leverage is your friend.

It's expensive, large, heavy, and the dial is busy. I love it. It is also a source of much derision here from some. Very much a weekend watch.

It’s less popular than your Subs, GMTs and Daytonas

the priceis is irrelevant. For 18800usd, i got my sky dweller for 14400 with annual calender and the GMT function , and I still has 4400 to spend on another watch. The development of the YM2 is more of a by-product to creating the rotating bezel for the skydweller

You'll also notice black DSSD's available in the case from time to time. Same reason, just not nearly as popular.

Didn't you get the memo? You're only allowed to like the "approved" steel models.

As a matter of fact, to comply with the full directive, you need to walk in to the AD and first thing explain you'd like a steel Daytona, sub, BLNR/BLRO, or blue Sky-Dweller. And if they don't have it, your next stop is TRF, where you create a rant about it.

I wish more people would follow the rules.

There is a very small niche of people who like it or it appeals to. The majority of forum members find it to be a little unsightly and have a complication that will never really be used. To those that love it and use it - good on you!

Actually I really like the new YM2 design. But alas the 44mm is abit too big for me. If they come out with a 40mm, i would get one without hesitation.

I have big wrists and personally like the size, busy-ness of dial and colors appealed to me, and even more the fact i was able to get mine second hand (2 years old) at 30% less than MSRP (where's all the popular SS models sell used above new MSRP)....

If it appeals to you, be happy it's available in store, and that you can likely negotiate a discount on it since it's readily available. And don't concern yourself about what other people think on here.... a watch's appeal to a person should not be defined by how hard it is to get or how long the waitlist is (but of course in today's world, many people are basic like that)

I remember 2 years ago when i got my BLNR from AD, most threads here were 50/50 on people who loved it and people who disliked the reference because of the colors or PCLs, and now that they're impossible to get 99% of people on here love it.

All that being said, you should also be able to find the explorer, milgauss and datejusts easily in store as well....

I saw one.

Out in public at the board walk being worn by a young gentleman wearing shorts and T shirt. It looked very nice and appropriate for the day. I would not be afraid to get one if I thought I could rock it. Alas I am not that hip!
