Sea Dweller 16600 on Smaller Wrist

New to the forum and looking for my first stainless. Stopped by a local used vendor and donned a GMT 16710 and 16600. Both nice and especially like the all matte bracelet on the gmt. But, I really liked the SD. Yeah, it sits high but it's nice and compact lug to lug and also love the date sans cyclops. The deal is I have a roughly 15.5cm wrist (~6.10"). As far as I could tell the bracelet was as small as it could be; seemingly down to the last link and the micro adjustment was dialed in and I could easy fit 2-3 pencils between wrist and bracelet. Way too much slack.

I thought I read that the watch would fit a smaller wrist but the buckle would be off-center? This bracelet was fairly even but just too much slack.

I have indeed read about people removing a permanent link but I'm sure I'd be screwed at resale if it was ever necessary. And what if the watch still didn't sit well after I mauled the bracelet?

I really like the 16600 and the prices seem relatively decent, but at $8k or so and then having a permanent link removed and then losing a ton of value, would I be better with a new SubC or the 16710?

Last question, the SD 4000 (116600?). Would I be able to adjust that bracelet to fit without permanently altering it? Would that watch be a better option if I wanted the 16600 with a more useable bracelet for my wrist circumference?

More succinctly, anyone know whether the 116600 can be sized for a 15.5cm wrist with removing a permanent link?

My wrist is 6.5”

I have had my SD and Sub bracelets sized removing everything down to the last link on the 6 o’clock side. That last link is connected directly to the clasp.

The twelve o’clock side can then be adjusted within the clasp in order to center the clasp on my wrist.

Works like a charm.

There are more removable links on the 116600 bracelet than the 5 digit

The only way you’ll get a 5 digit SD to fit it to remove a permanent link on the 6 o’clock side

If you’re concerned about resale, remove a permanent link and when you want to sell it, have a link re-added. This option will require sending the bracelet or watch to a RSC, or an independent with a parts account. Or you can source a link on a forum such as this, that requires a screw and not machine installation. Or, wear it on a NATO full time. I have a 6.5 wrist and find the NATO the most comfortable for my personal use. I haven’t worn my 16600 on its bracelet in years.
