Out of curiosity... what is OF?

With regards to getting your tax back, I have done this so many times with Global blue which is pretty easy. Take your watch and receipts with you to the airport (you might have to fill in the form that is on/in the receipt) then find out where the Global blue or other agencies desk is in the airport.

The salesman/AD should be able to guide you as well :)

Declaring at customs is totally up to you. If you don't want to declare, then just wear the watch and possibly mail back you box and certificate to yourself.

As for VAT Refund, it's simple and more or less the same everywhere:

Get the AD prepare Tax Free invoice including your passport details.

Get the watch, receipt with yourself at the Airport. First go to customs and get your tax free invoice approved (officers might want to see your watch with the invoice).

Lastly, go to Tax Free Broker's office (mostly it is Global Blue though there are other companies doing the same) and get your documents approved. Then in 1-2 weeks they return most of your VAT back to your credit card.

Last week, received a call…Daytona white face in stock. He said it’s mine if I can come before March…

Here I am..flew +6,000 miles to pick it up today. I asked him how many Daytona SS’s he receives from Rolex = 3 – 4 pieces per year / per store. (FYI, the total price was around USD 12,800 with currency exchange)


Questions:
- What’s the proper procedure when buying a watch abroad? VAT Refund when departing & declare customs when arriving? (I should declare the customs, right?)
- How can I purchase OF to go with this watch?

Just an update
- received approx USD $980 VAT refund from the departing airport (ICN)
- Once arriving at LAX, i declared the watch. BTW, i have GE and was using a kiosk. The GE receipt indicated i'd need to go see a baggage check.
- After giving the GE receipt to the custom's officer, he just told me to go...no duty paid.. :)
