Ellipse back from refurb

I couldn’t resist this Ellipse, it was a gamble as it wasn’t running when I bid at auction, Patek have done a fine job, service, new crown, new crystal, new strap, polish and an extract from the archives

A gorgeous, under-the-radar and underrated watch. My grandfather wore one every day, and a latter-day model is now my brother's daily watch of choice.

Enjoy it in good health.

Thank you, I’ve always loved the Ellipse, I like the new one but it’s a little bit too expensive in my opinion.

That is a really gorgeous timepiece. Was never a fan of the Ellipse, but the more photos I see of them, the more tempted I am to buy one.

Thank you, I hope Patek bring out more variations in the future and I’ll be tempted by the now discontinued rose gold/brown dial model if I can find one at a reasonable price.

Can I ask what size and what model is ?

I have always withheld from buying as I have felt they are a bit small

Golden Ellipse is very underrated, but a beautiful dress watch. Only downside I can think of is needing to change batteries on your quartz Ellipse. A manual wind or automatic Ellipse would be perfect.

Yep , back in the 70’s I bought my first PP - the Ellipse! I didn’t know much about timepieces then and dealer offered me quartz or manual wind for same price- I bought the quartz ha ! Well a couple years ago, had a break in at my home and dirty bird stole the quartz :-(. I replaced it w manual one . BtW I got a matching ladies quartz ( a little smaller) for my wife and she loves it! She doesn’t have to fuss with winding etc. IMO they really are a bargain on resale market. Size really hasn’t been a problem on mine- love the ultra thinness. Op enjoy yours - congratulations on getting it made new! james in San Antonio.

It’s the 31mm and it’s a 3747 from 1988

The first one I got was about ten years ago and has had two battery changes, I have lots of autos but it’s good to some quartz watches in your collection, the first Ellipse I found was a special order from 1991

Found some and I’ve just realised they have changed the old style date wheel for a new one
