The jeweler featured on Producer Michael is starting to liquidate some of his inventory and making it sound like a One Time Only Deal:

Gotta love these guys with their "FINAL" price reductions, usually followed by another "FINAL" reduction.

I'm also personally interested in seeing how far down PP 3800s fall.
Before this whole craziness, you could get the YG 3800 for around $30k all day long. |

Claimed 'BNIB' AP 26420 Taupe listed on C24 at 20% over MSRP.
Hoping I'll be able to get this from AP directly sometime soon... I guess the breakeven for a flipper is around 5% or 10%, given tax? Getting close to unflippable... |

There's a factory barked Rolex DD with factory wood dial in excellent condition that's also been sitting around for several days at $27k.

Buy to wear, buy at MSRP. Can't go wrong.

All these grey dealers made fortunes last few years.
Once the dust settles only a few references from a few brands will be anywhere above retail. Steel Daytonas, steel nautilus and some steel royal oaks…. the rest at discounts like it was in the good old days. Hoping the “fun” times in this hobby come back soon and the “investors” go back to doing something else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

14790s could be had for $8k several years ago. Yves Kleins were around $10k but nobody wanted them because they were too unusual.
The RO QP in platinum and SS would sit unsold for $35-40k. |

two things we cannot escape..
Markets go UP and they go DOWN and Supply = Demand Those two realities mean that prices WILL go up again ... and... they will go down again.. Buy the watch you want to WEAR.. |

I don’t see any indication of a clear bottom yet. If you aren’t in this to make money then no big deal. There’s not really any buyers right now for over msrp AP, Rolex and Patek. Lord knows how far Richard milles have to fall. If a dealer wants to lower that Royal oak to market price to sell it only begets a new low on the next one that sells as buyers want to set a new low when buying anything right now. It’s very simple. Don’t buy anything for over msrp plus tax. Then your downside is palatable as these are luxuries after all and if you’re buying you’re probably a watch geek not a speculator.

Once we get back to historic norms in pricing, this will (largely) eliminate flipping and we'll get back to normal times. Patience will be rewarded.

Based purely on my anecdotal observations, Milles don't seem to be selling at all. Has anyone seen one actually sell recently? I think I've maybe seen one in the past two months, and it was (relatively speaking) quite a low price.

I agree with a lot of what has been said here. A few observations:
Massive amount of AP RO just listed in the last 24 hrs 15510 around 63k with grey dial, 15500 41mm multiple in low-mid 40s full sets Subs galore with and without a date window. 41mm at around 12.9k with date full set. There are many more watches coming on market and with these prices I’m wondering just what the heck kind of kool aid I was drinking 6 months or a year ago? I dumped my nautilus for a partial trade for something I really wanted back in February. So glad I did Final thought. Those watches that imho haven’t had as much following even though I love some of them, are going to get crushed. Watches like exp 1&2, ak, dd, dj, ym were bolstered by the madness. People who were eager to get a Rolex, in many cases were settling for something they could get as opposed to what they really wanted. I did it, bought a blue stick dial 41 jubilee but would’ve given that a hard pass if offered Gmt or Daytona. As SS subs come down to msrp, I think the other less popular watches will fall even lower. |

Apparently buying 3 Rolex and 1 Tudor (except Tudor does not count ) is not enough I am going to make more changes to my collection anyway and will be long done before they ever think of me

Frankly, high-end audio could use such a 'bubble of popularity'. Soooo many music lovers listening via meh-quality gear.

What was the expected discount pre-hype for a yellow gold day date? On the shelf vs custom order?

in 2018, I got 15% off a 116618LB Bluesy Gold Sub... I'm sure the Day Date would have been higher... I don't think we're going to see 15% off at an AD ever again however..
