New guy here....Curious on your thoughts
I am new to this forum and I must say I am very glad that I came across this site. I have been over on TZ for some time now under the same name (finance21) however, I just stumbled upon this site today while killing some time before heading out to celebrate the holidays.
I am looking for some opinions on the issue of possibly selling 1 of my 2 Rolex watches. My current collection stands at Black Dial Omega AT 42mm Rolex Explorer II White (F Series) GMT II Red/Black (D Series) To be honest, I really can not justify having 2 Rolex watches. While I do not NEED the money, I am debating letting 1 Rolex go and keeping the other. I love both watches however; I am leaning towards keeping the Explorer II and selling the GMT II. The reason for my leaning toward the Explorer II is simply that I have a black AT and the white Explorer II will be a nice balance. However, I love both watches and with that being said what do you guys think? Should I just keep them all? I look forward to hearing your opinions. Happy Holidays…… |

Hello and welcome to TRF. If it was my choice, I'd keep them all.
Merry Christmas. Don't forget, a Rolex is not just for Christmas!!

Hi and welcome.
Over the next couple of weeks wear the watches that your first instinct picks.Keep a tally and check out the results. What ever smiles most at you and is the one chosen the most is the one to keep.Mind you with a GMT around I am sorry but nothing else would get a look in. Aaron |

I actually thought about selling my Panny and SS GMT since I have the TTGMTA. There is no rush at all, but if someone HAD to have one I would be nice. Funny but I would not expect a "payment" as much as a "dowry", know what I mean?

I prefer the GMTII to the EXII, but it is up to you what you wish to keep. The GMTII will do everything the EXII does and more given it has a rotating bezel.
Both watches are very enjoyable. I had an EXII white dial and did get a little tired of it, but I have nothing against it. |

Welcome to TRF.
I'm afraid we will not be able to answer your question. It seems that most of us would keep your collection of watches until hell freezes over, so no help there. However, if you must sell, it will be totally YOUR call (sorry! ).

Personally, I would keep the GMT. More funtionality and in my opinion (for what it's worth) the better looking of the two. I've always liked the GMT. Good luck.

Well I must say I am leaning towards the Explorer II. I don’t know what it is but something about the white face I find very appealing. Like I said no rush and heck, maybe I will just keep them all; GMT II on the weekends, Explorer II during the week.

As for your conundrum, I would switch out the red/black bezel on the GMT for an all black. Then you'll have a black and white. The best of all combinations.
