Looking for Vuarnet sunglasses from the 80's

Does anybody know what style name these Vuarnet are?
I gave up on looking for new ones ...guess that dont make this style anymore.
I had brown with brown lens in the mid 80's and they were one of my all time fav sunglasses....now I will have to look on ebay and vintage online shops if I can figure out the name.
Any help would be appreciated!

E-bay is going to be your best bet unless you can come up with a site dedicated to vintage sunglasses....I remember those well

Vintage Shades

Man, the mere mention of Vuarnets take back to a much more innocent and less stressful time in my life. Back in the day you were NOBODY if you didn't rock these! I lost a pair when I left them on a Donkey Kong game at the local pizza parlor-true story.

Good luck in procuring a pair all these years later!

I may have a pair. I purchased them new back in the mid to late 80s but have not worn them for a long while. Let me check and I will get back to you.

Wow, blast from the past! If you weren't wearing Vuarnets it was Suncloud Rose glasses.

Are these them?

I never owned a pair, but I do remember playing Asteroids in a pizza parlour, and leaving my dad's yellow walkman behind once.

Hi Greg.

I do have a pair if you are interested. They are Vuarnet model 4085 made in France. Actually in fairly decent shape. If you like, I can take some pictures tomorrow?

Thanks

Gorgeous glasses! Must be hard to find! Are they big? I still have Persol 649's from 82'. I recently had them adjusted to my face. I asked the dealer what they think my vintage Ratti 649's, and they said anywhere from $400-700! And mine aren't in the greatest shape!

I had a guy tell me in Scottsdale

that the Vuarnet's from the 80's are hot right now and he gets several calls a week looking for this model.
I had two pair of them lost them over the years.
They were THE sunglasses of mid 80's
I want the brown ones

I remember watching it filmed in Mesa in early 80....it was filmed in like 30 days.....now its a apartment complex but the old Dodge dealer (Darner) is still there across the street and looks almost the same as it did 32 years ago.
Very small plaque saying it was filmed there and thats it.
Ive watched 100 times and still laugh at it.

Jack Warden was brilliant. He totally owned that movie. Grandpa Munster got a star turn as well.

An ex-girlfriend of mine own a vintage shop in Phoenix and she says she can sell vintage "sunnies", as she calls them, for 3x's what they sold for new.

Especially to the ladies with Gucci, LV and Channel glasses...

Vuarnet

I know I'm a lil late but I was looking for my old pair of Vuarnets and have gab no luck at all, I bought mine in "87" when I was in the Army in Texas. Had them till about "94" where my wife then or daughter broke them but no one knew a thing. As I said no luck and it doesn't help I can't remember the name of the ones I had, so I was hopping that if I described them someone out there might b able to help, they were black with the "V" in the bridge they had the rap around ears and the lenses were like a rainbow. If anyone knows which ones they were or where I could find out or find them you will b my new best friend lol thanks!!

I've seen these on ebay. Sometimes NOS comes up.

Also look for Bolle and Ray Ban in this style. This is the plastic aviator.
