$31 million...381 carat diamond necklace...really?
I am sure it's a loan necklace just like everything else they wear....it's just rented/loaned for the evening....I am just wondering what is the rental fee for this baby for one evening?

Most likely free. The actor or singer gets to wear fancy jewelry and the jeweler and designer receives free advertising and promotion. Free advertising!

This is product placement, like a nice tall bag of Doritos but blingier. |

I want to be a celeb simply so I can get paid to wear expensive things instead of vice versa.

Product placement you say?
I'd say that is product very well placed. She has star quality in the classic sense. |

Now that's a beautiful necklace! And I thought I was so good because I managed to make earrings...

I'd be willing to bet it's not even the original.
The original's more than likely in a vault, while it's the still very expensive copy that gets worn out on the town.

What you don't see in this picture are the huge burly security guards that follow her around like puppies for the night. There is nowhere she can go without these guys while she is wearing the necklace. A friend of mine works in TV and once, while visiting him, he took me to work to watch a show being recorded. In it the interviewee (I didn't know who she was) was wearing a necklace worth a few hundred thousand dollars. He told me it was a loaner and as a result she was escorted everywhere by security guards. She had to take it off and put it back in a strong carry case if she wanted to go to the bathroom. You can only imagine the security for a $31m necklace

It does look good on her.
A bit on the pricey side though.
