What discount to expect for a SS and Gold Daytona?
I am going to buy 2-3 so I was wondering what kind of discount I could expect from a AD?

It's 3 people 3 Daytona's one person buys. Lol >< it's my and theres too first (early 20s). So yeah a 50% discount (even though very optimistic) would be nice.

Well, you already know it won't be 50%.
IMO 10-15% overall might be realistic - but who really knows. Depends on the AD and how badly they want to move some inventory. As mentioned earlier, your best bet may be to work a deal with one of the trusted sellers here on TRF. Either way, good luck!

I am at the very least expecting a 16% discount (realistically) as from
http://www.swissluxury.com/rolex-wat...l-and-gold.htm But then again I am purchasing 3 so who ever the sales rep is s/he would reach there sales quata for the day. So if I take that into account and hopefully the 2 stores I am looking to buy from aren't runed by the same manager, I could be looking at a bigger discount (right?). The question that I have what is a realistic ammount in today's market? |

There really isnt an answer to this the question.
and if there was, it would be ... it depends: on the AD on the watch on the salesperson on that day Set a strike price and try to hit it. everyting I have read suggests 5% is the minimum you should shoot for, going up to 20 on some models (generally gold, as the margins are better for them) but if someone has just been into the shop you are at and bought them out, you are screwed, end of. |

The problem that you will encounter in SIN is that SS watches are as rare as rocking horse poo. With this in mind, I really wouldn't go expecting too much of a discount on anything SS, if you even manage to spot one! On my recent trip, a couple of the ubiquitous DSSD's were just about the only steel models I saw in any of the ADs.
I honestly think, you would be well advised to make overtures to one of the trusted sellers on here BEFORE you go, to see what ball-park figures they could come up with so that, at the very least, you have an idea of prices for comparison. |

Sure, but you say originally you want to buy from an AD. For various reasons that people far more knowledgeable than me will tell you, buying from an AD vs Grey or TRF is not apples vs apples.
If you want AD you will pay more, as far as im lead to believe AD prices are controlled heavily by Rolex, you play by their rules or you lose your status. Where are you from? If US go with a trusted TRF is my suggestion |

now, you could take a gamble and try to get it through, but there are plenty of threads running right now, in partiular about Canada to suggest it's risky.
Im in HK right now btw, which is meant to have the "best" AD deals, and I can tell you its still pretty much the same as every other country. Rolex are a mega-brand, entry comes at a cost or if you really want 15%+ u need to go grey. and as everyone says here,if you do that, "buy the seller". |

Contact a seller here.
Why bother with swissluxury.com or anywhere else online? |

Another problem you're going to have is that the ADs is Asia really have no need to discount. They sell ALL DAY long at retail to the visiting mainland Chinese. I think you'll be lucky to get 10% on steel... maybe 20% on gold... regardless of how many you buy (assuming you could even find that many steel models at a single AD).

You can't get a discount for a SS Daytona in Singapore, they still charge a "premium" for SS Daytona, however if you are getting 3 gold Daytonas you will not have a problem of getting a discount of at least 25%. You can also claim the GST back at the airport.

You can get 25% on WG and YG Daytonas just across the border in Malaysia. I just checked last week.

25% in HK for sure around TST area. Despite the fact that loads of buyers from mainland China these days, WG or YG buyers are still not that easy to come by. I suggest you start with 30% at least. Good luck.

I believe the OP is going for TT Daytonas, neither gold nor SS. There seems to be a lot of confusion in this thread.

So that's what's TT stands for? But yes Fredrik is correct I am going for a Stainless Steel and gold or (TT ooooh you should add _ in the middle of the T's) called Singapore they said they only had Stainless Steel black and white in stock and Hong Kong only gives a 5% on the model with 8 diamonds and champaign dial.... so I am thinking of sending out the thing Chinese people hates doing business with, a brown guy. Brown people naturally tries to get the biggest discount and the Chinese tris to give the least discount. The perfect combo (FYI its not raciest, well it is but I just quoated Russel Peters, XD the guy knows why I did it and no one can get mad at me (THAT is the law.))
