Any Ideas What This Issue May Be??
I was going to wear my GMT-C, today, for the first time in quite a while.
While setting the time, I noticed that the quickset hour function worked differently than in the past. Previously, i would pull out and turn the crown and the hour hand would jump and 'click' at each hour marker. Now, there is almost no resistance or clicking that happens when I turn the crown and I can basically put the hour hand in any position on the dial I want (i.e. anywhere between each hour marker, whereas prevoiusly it was sort of dictated where the hour hand went based on where the minute hand currently was). I figure I need to bring the watch in to fix this but curious if anyone knows how significant this repair might be? Im guessing some sort of rotor or wheel (or something else that has indentations/stem) is broken and would need to be replaced. sucks - as i was quite eager to wear it again! |

Did you fully wind it first?

Try running through a few days "non-quick set", i.e. run the hands around the dial a few times and allow the date to progress manually...

You're going to have to send it in. I had the same issue with my 216570 Exp II. This seems to be a common problem with the 3186 and 3187 movement I was told by Rolex Dallas.
I sent mine in to RUSA Dallas and it was covered complements of Rolex, even after the warranty had expired. Here's the link to mine - http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...highlight=duey |
