Holidays are Coming

Holidays are coming and wanted to be ready.
Got these for our 2 boys (ages - 28 WG Daytona, 31 DSSD).
28 lives in Europe, travels frequently, 31 in California.
Both are on casual side, figured these would be appropriate, and have read how comfortable the Tropical strap is. Also under the radar.
Considered 2 - 5167's, liked the date window, however I liked the feel of the 5164's more, and the second time zone for the traveler.
I generally wear PP 5980/1A-001, PP 5270 Series 1, and occasionally a Rolex Double Red Sea-Dweller.
Now I think I need a "Tropical" watch also??

My kids who are just a few years younger do not wear watches. They are in the generation of why -- I have an iPhone

Great gifts - I suspect their Rolex watches will get very little wrist time from here on in! Merry Xmas!

i'm in love with my 5164. I originally had the 5167 because of the date window and simple airy dial, but I realized i needed the 5164 for its second time zone (i travel a lot). I have now come to appreciate the heft of the 5164 as well. It feels very substantial and solid.

I'm up for adoption

Wow you're a really cool dad, mine made me some super presents but even if he never wore a Timex, had a Speedy, Omega 1950's gold chrono, and a Breitling chrono, and he bought me a Breitling when I was 22, He never woul've understood putting that kind of money in a watch for him or me, even if financially he could have very easily

I'll be honest... I'm confused and not sure how I'm the only one? So you got your boys each a 5164? or the daytona and dssd? Either way, your two sons are about to be super happy they got you as a pops in the next few months!

This would have been a great opportunity for a randomized control trial to investigate which model will be most liked by user: 5167 or 5164.
