Keep Milgauss or Go Zenith?

I've had the Milgauss for about 6 years now and its been my daily driver for much of that time. This Zenith Pilot (w/ El Primero movement) has caught my eye and it seems to have a roughly similar aesthetic with the baton markers (although certainly different in other respects).

Due to their similarities, I'm thinking that there's only room for one of these in my collection. I have an opportunity to trade the Milguass for the Zenith ($+/-). I'm curious to know what other Rolex fans would do in this situation ... would you do the trade or keep the Milgauss (ignoring cost issues, just focusing on the watches themselves)? Why or why not?

Keep the Milgauss. Its actually a very underrated timepiece. You'll miss it far too much once it's gone!

Between those two, the zenith hands down. It's just a nicer looking watch regardless of brand.

Never liked the milgauss.

It might be difficult going from a bracelet to a strap for a daily wear watch.

Asking "Rolex Fans" if you should get rid of a Rolex is going to get you some pretty one sided answers.

Zenith has chrono and date, Milgauss neither. Are these complications important to you? If not keep the Milgauss. If in your budget, it doesn't read that you need to get rid of the Rolex for the Zenith just considering to eliminate repetition, just add the Zenith. There's enough difference to have a place in your collection for both.

I've had my Milgauss as well for just about 6 years, I'm thinking about selling it to fund about 50 or 60 Michael Kors watches, maybe add in a few Invictas for variety ;), maybe that's the way to go?

Otherwise, I would just keep the Milgaus.

Honestly I'd go Zenith unless you were talking about the blue Milgauss.

Fair point, but being a "Rolex fan" is not inconsistent with having respect (or a preference) for other manufactures, brands, or watches. And even a "Rolex fan" may not be a Milguass fan. Regardless, I'm taking everything with a grain of salt and enjoying the discussion of two great watches. At the end of the day, there's no right answer, so I'm happy to hear differing opinions.

Well...this is Rolex forum after all, right?

I would keep the Milgauss. I've tried both watches and, while I like Zenith very much, it would be a no-brainer to me. Unless you need (or simply like) chronograph complication, stick to the Milgauss, a very elegant and understated watch, suitable for every occasion. Plus, the fact that it's on a bracelet makes it more versatile and gives you countless opportunities to play with various straps when you're up for a little change.

Do you care about the crown? If no then trade it for the zenith.

I would be afraid you would regret getting rid of your Milgauss.
A. It has a lightning bolt
B. The antimagnetic quality giving it a 'tool' purpose is an interesting story even if you'll never use it for that purpose (like most of us)
