It's a...........MONSTER!

After seeing all the Monster posts lately I couldn't resist any longer. I found a smokin deal from a power seller on the bay, picked up a NATO strap, and here we are. Can't beat this piece for the price...

You could land planes on a flight deck with that thing.

That has an awesome lume.

I'm thinking of modifying my Monster with some parts from Bill Yao's MKII web page.

What do you guy's think of this dial (not my pictures)

With the these hands and second sweep (with red tip) or do you prefer the above saber hands?

Please let me know what you think of these combination's. I'm pretty set on the dial, just trying to figure out which hands to choose.

I'm with Chip here I like this one better, but on a rubber strap and with the red tipped second hand like in the second pic. I can't see a reason to cover up the Day/Date display like the second dial does.

I think it would look smookin

If you know a compent watchmaker, order the parts yourself and have them put them on for you.

Keep us posted Joe

Thanks for the input Paulie. I was going to have the watch sent out, but I think your right, shouldn't be a problem finding a local guy.

i have looked at this several times now and i keep thinking i like the day date dial, saber hands and the red tipped second hand, actually i like both sets of hands but with the red tipped second hand to give some color and a technical aspect to it. these are one of the best watches money can buy for the money!

edit to add,
are the wide hands solid white? if they are that will make it look more like an aircraft instrument and i would have to go with that set up for the extra coooooolness factor!!!!

The hands below come solid white. Here's a pic (not mine) I found of them on the day/date dial with a red tipped second hand.

You just have to try and picture them on a Monster with black date wheel

The Saber's really do give it an almost classy look vs. the Type I's instrument styling. Decisions decisions...

I'd leave the Monster 'factory fresh' and pick up a 007 to mod. Here's mine to give you an idea

it is c3 super lume so it will last many many years. it is the same brand that rolex uses except they use c1 and it isn't as bright. omega and breitling use a mixture of c3 which is the brightest and c1 to give it a whiter color than the seiko monster but much more glow than rolex.
