Shipping a watch off to sale. Question about the box using fed ex.

Hello I am in the process of shipping off a couple of watches to Florida via FedEx.

I have in my possession a box that is extremely sturdy and perfect size for the job but it was used to transport vodka. In other words the box on its exterior has a brand of vodka on it with graphics of said vodka. Would this be a red flag and make them open up to check the contents or am I being overly anxious?

Thanks a bunch.

A watch noob.

It's a box, why take the chance?

You're right. I'll just have to go to the store and buy a better plain box. Thanks.

I reuse boxes all the time. If you are worried about the branding, wrap it nicely in old-fashion sturdy brown paper. That will cover the writing, and It's a nice treat for your buyer too, because it shows you took extra care rather than just shoving it in a box and sending it on its way. Hand address it too and you've hit a winner.

For an extra few bucks, you can have FedEX place your finished box into one of their official Fedex logo-boxes. They will pack it perfectly and fill any excess space with their paper stuffing. It will make your already secure box even more secure and completely anonymous. I've done this several times (while shipping watches) and it always worked perfectly.

Regards, -Rick.

I have shipped firearms with FedEx and their insurance rates approach 1% of the package's value.

Use any sturdy box and completely cover with brown paper tape.
