My S8+ came in the mail on Thursday.

I upgraded from the S7edge and so far, I'm loving it.

I love the larger screen and the rest is excellent, too.

Every complaint I've read in the reviews is a complete non-issue for me.

I highly recommend this phone to anyone but the most feeble-minded users, who must be the ones who review phones.

I guess we must be the only ones on TRF who have the new Galaxy S8 series, Eliot.

I look forward to your assessment.

As noted earlier, I'm quite happy with mine.

It's also black--'Midnight Black.'

Not sure if it's available here yet. I'm going to walk over to the phone store and check.

Boy, this thread is going nowhere fast.

I thought we might get some intelligent dialogue, but I guess not.

I have a very user friendly phone and it's far more flexible than Apple is ever likely to be.

Of course, now that Jobs is gone things could change.

I have to wonder about those who find Android to be so indecipherable. To me, it couldn't be more simple.

The two biggest problems I've had was having to reset my router, which took about five seconds. The other is the keyboard, which, while it is a qwerty, is different enough that my thumbs need a few days to adapt.

But, no one is happier than I am that there is the iPhone out there for folks who find the Android OS too difficult too handle.

I gave a brief assessment already.

I love this phone and I've only just begun to explore it.

But, I'm done. The trolls can have their fun now.

Build quality is the best of any phone I've ever held or used.

Double edge screen is nice.

Bixby smart recognition helpful for travelers. It reads signs in foreign language and translates them.

The snap chat esque stuff is fun to mess with.

Interface and os is much better. Very fast.

I don't use the lock screen stuff so don't care about it.

Camera is pretty good for a cell phone as well. Dont miss the physical buttons at all.

Overall really liking it. I went with the jet black.

I was commenting on Grady's mini-rant. Once a few more S8's are in use I sure the conversation will be better.

Until then, the Samsung vs. Apple conflict will rage on amongst the fan boys whenever a new phone thread pops up.

Intelligent dialogue...

First I also thought we were talking Audi's.

Second this phone looks amazing. I am a tech geek and love to try out new things.

Problem here is I am all in with Apple products so it isn't a simple one phone only type of trial. The whole family has Apple phones, work phone is Apple, iPads galore and home computer. The issue is bigger than just try the phone.

Having said that I have played with it at the store. Also being a Apple fanboy I will say I think the S8 is better than Apple phones and it seems Apple is always chasing Samsung from a phone stand point.

Can't wait to hear more reviews and certainly hope the battery thing is fixed. I actually hope the S8 is a ginormous success, Apple needs to step it up.

They instituted 8 safety tests that are brand new for the battery I am sure apple will do or has done the same.

Waiting on the note8 later this year. Looks like Samsung is back. They are using an extensive battery test for every battery that goes into every new phone.

Love my S7 Edge. Got another year before I upgrade but i played around with an S8 at Best Buy and was really impressed. Bigger screen but narrower phone vs the S7 Edge. Screen is amazing. The fingerprint sensor on the back is something I'm not thrilled about but apparently you can unlock it with a retina scanner so maybe the fingerprint thing isn't an issue anymore? Wife has the S6 Edge and loves it but I think she's gonna keep for one more year in hopes of a BOGO free offer on the S9. We'll see...

The days of iOS or Android echo systems are long gone, I have all Apple products except my phone (Mac Book pro x 2 iPad Pro, iPad Mini). It is simple, I can get my Android phone (Google Pixel XL) working seamlessly with all my Apple products. Mail, Calendar, photos etc all work flawlessly, so, to be honest. There is no issue.

Getting back to the Galaxy, it is absolutely superb and without doubt, the best there is in the world. I prefer my Google pure Android OS but am really tempted bu this one.

What about all the purchases (music, applications, films) I have made on the iPhone. I can get them on my Windows PC but will they cross over to the Android phone?
