Purchased first rolex 1 month ago, too soon for a second? Sub c date + blnr
I got my first rolex at the end of auguest, a sub c with date. I love it. I'm also in love with the blnr batman watch.
I might have the chance to grab it within a week or two at msrp (tax free, would ship it out of state) The issue I'm having is that I'm not sure its a good idea buying another rolex so soon after the first.. thoughts on this? I'm worried I'll wear the blnr all the time and forget about the sub, although it's hard to imagine that right now.. thoughts on this? Is my thinking off? Is it stupid to buy another so soon to my first? I would plan to keep both, and would want to alternate days evenly since they're both brand new. Is this feasible? I"m out of my depth here as I just got the first watch a month ago and have no prior experience buying such an expensive watch, let alone 2 in 1 month! |

I believe it is too soon. From my experience of someone who flipped 14 + watches in the first year of discovering watch collecting, all I can say is the more you wait and save, the more you enjoy what you have. Even if you got cash ready for the purchase. The fun is in anticipating the next piece rather than in acquiring it right away.
Go on forums, read about it, watch videos on youtube etc... Once you buy it you will be itching for another one trust me. It feels good to know that you could have this or that but not giving in just yet. Who knows, if you save for longer you might see yourself not wanting the BLNR that much anymore and rather something else maybe PM?? Then again, I had to try them all to have this state of mind not mentioning all the money loss, so I feel you bro. Sent from my A1601 using Tapatalk |

I did the about the same thing. Nothing wrong with owning more than one watch assuming it does not cause financial stress. Haven't taken the BLNR off since I put it on.

I purchased my first 3 Rolex within a year. Unfortunately, my 214270 rarely comes out to play. When it does, I am reminded how much I really like the watch. I would wait a few more months, and see if you still have the itch.

I can understand you, BLNR can not be resisted once you get the luck to buy it especially in your case with MSRP price. If it was the other way with Sub C I will may be wait a couple of months as it is more or less basic model and easy to get without waiting time.

I picked up my first two (116520 and LVc) within two months and I still have them. I picked up my 359 and 689 together. I also bought my 737 and my 116622 within five weeks of each other and Mrs Van D gave me my Sub LN in between them.
There’s no rules of when to buy. The only thing I will say is that having them too close together might take the thrill of acquisition away for some. It could be said that you don’t get a chance to enjoy one before another steals its thunder.

Why wait if you don't have to? YOLO, enjoy whilst you can, who can foretell the future?
One thing for certain, they don't get cheaper when you wait |

Do it. The blnr is a beauty. I love mine. And if you change your mind on it, you will not have a hard time letting go of it for a minimal loss

I'm getting a very simular urge, albeit, with another watch.
Bought my Submariner Date brand new from an AD about a month ago. Absolutely love the watch and at the time of acquisition this was to be my one and only luxury watch for life (I'm not rich and live an otherwise humble lifestyle). Since then I've just been itching for a white dial watch to add to this, preferably a rolex datejust 36mm. I have held off so far but I don't know how much longer I can actually hold off lol. |

This is funny...you ask on a Rolex site if you should buy another Rolex.

I can see where you’re coming from. I have bought 4 Rolex since June. I sometimes wish I wasn’t so impulsive. If you are financially stable and have the money then do it.

I personally would wait until after the honeymoon before taking on a mistress. But then, I've always been a bit of an underachiever.

The question isn't if it is too soon. The question is what the hell took you so long. at 30 days, you're already behind the eight ball. Buy the BLNR

I have a general rule of 3 months between SS buys and 6 months between PMs. Leads to more reasoned, head and heart, purchases and less buyer's remorse.

I have a rule; never more that two incoming in the same day. It sounds like an opportunity for the BLNR especially getting it without tax and at msrp. As they say, make hay while the sun shines.

It's your personal choice, but I would wait awhile and see how you feel after a year or so. I've had the same Sub for the past ten years and it's what most of you guys would consider beat up! But it's been on my wrist for all my daily manual building work and served me well. Having more than one Rolex for me would become like collecting stuff and that's when much of the enjoyment goes and we start coveting and searching for the next and the next, but never truly enjoying "The One" which we already have! ....Women, well, are another matter!!!
