Ski chair lift out of control

Never seen anything like this before. It says nobody was seriously injured.

No E-Stop???

What?

How does the motor even go that fast? They are designed for a certain speed. Surprising it has the ability to exceed it by so much

That was nuts.

You've got to be kidding me... How the hell does this sort of thing even happen!? Hopefully it's just the ridiculous setup they've got going there. Hope everyone was ok for the most part other than the obviously likely minor injuries.

Scary. The US manufacturer of those lifts is in Salt Lake City. I would imagine all our local resorts sport those same lifts. I've been on them thousands of times in my 25+ years of skiing. They produce all kinds of cable cars and trams all over the world...

It looks like it was going backwards, almost like the drive cable snapped and the chair lift came downwards...you can see the people jumping off as it was coming down towards the lineup of skiers

In all my years of skiing, I've seen anything even close to that. Thank God no one was seriously hurt or killed.
