New Rolex Advice

I got my hands on my dream watch, after admiring photos for years! I've had it for a week now, and I haven't taken it off. I wear it to the gym, the shower, everywhere. Is that not a good idea over time?

Any other advice I should know about this watch?

Also, I'm considering getting this insured. Should I insure this for the retail price?

Thank you all for the guidance!

PS - my brother asked me if he could have the Pepsi GMT my Dad gave to me (circa 1960s). I actually gave it to him! I can't believe I did that! So now this is my one and only watch.

Congrats on the Daytona. I'm not a white dial man myself but it looks great!

Congrats on the Daytona. Don’t know that I’d be wearing it in the shower or at the gym but it’s your piece.

Congratulations. I would definitely insure the watch. Not sure you can insure a new watch from more that retail. You can try if you can get an appraisal for market value and see if your insurance co. will accept.

Insurance might be a good idea, otherwise wear it and enjoy!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum

I’d insure it for damage at the gym

I would have gave my brother the Daytona and kept the vintage souvenir. But that’s me :-)

You are absolutely correct. I just confirmed this with an insurance company. Thank you.

Congrats! Get it insured. I used to wear my watch to the gym until I took a chunk out of a pm gmt on a benchpress machine. Besides the gym, I keep mine on.

Probably not the gym or the shower but wear it how you wish. It is your watch. Get insurance if you feel you need to especially if replacement would be difficult.

Congrats! BTW, did you go grey to get it?
