Zeitwerk Strike Time or Double Split Platinum?

I have eyes on these two. Love them both. I think the move, money aside, is the Zeitwerk. Anyone have experience with these models that can help guide?

Any feedback appreciated.

Here they are on my wrist.

No wrong choice but man, that Zeitwerk is on another level.

Personally, Zeitwork. But hey, there’s no wrong answer.

That specific Zeitwerk is my grail watch. Got to play around with it at a local AD.

I've been torn between similar choices too. Imo the Zeitwerk is the way to go.

Definitely zeitwerk. But, in my opinion, the standard data and the standard wg/black dial zeitwerk are better choices

The Double Split is one of those pieces that will go for silly money when ALS gets huge. The piece is iconic and one of the first ever split second rattrapante Chronos.

I 'believe' the DS is still actually in production (it wasn't limited like the TS was) although given the popularity of the ZWST, Im sure there are much less DS's out there.

If you like the style of the ZW (and no one would blame you), that's the only option. I would lean DS myself. ZWs are out there. This...not so much. Just my 2cents tho

DS is by no means one of the first rattrapante chronos - they’ve been around for years, but it was the first second and minute split.

One thing that surprise me on the DS was the weight. It’s comically heavy compared to any other watch I’ve tried on.

Both look great. The DS movement is a stunner (I would suggest better looking than the TS) but the Zeitwerk probably wins the dial battle. No wrong choices as long as they fit - which they both appear to do!

I went through almost the same decision a while back. I ended up narrowing it down the standard Datograph and a standard Zeitwerk (separate discussion could be had there). I went with the zeitwerk. I think it is maybe the best example of a digital readout on a mechanical watch...and a classic Lange.

Striking, no contest.

Plus, the DS like the OG Dato is just dated in its look. The romans on the dial, just give the watch an old (dated) feel.

I've been thinking about a Zeitwerk (the normal one, not striking time), though I have heard it is huge on the wrist. Would you mind telling me the size of your wrist, just to figure out if I could pull it off ? Thanks

For me Double Split for the movement/complication alone, but I think the comment about the dial looking a little dated is valid. What's your style - modern or classic?

No bad choices!

I have that exact Zeitwerk Striking Time and love it, so my vote is for this by a mile.

I have tried the double split but there really is a noticeable size difference between the two, just with the thickness. It's 13.6mm V 15.3mm, and I found that a BIG difference when on the wrist.

Also, due to the Triple Split, the "Double Split" has lost some of its lustre.

Omg- the Zeitwerk for sure.
Both are gorgeous, but the Zeitwerk is on another level aesthetically speaking.
Lucky man!

I own the double split platinum... I love it. I also like the Zeitwerk but concerned the novelty of the dial might wear off on me.. I do have a strong preference for Chronos and PR indicators in general.

Zeitwerk for sure. While I appreciate lange chrono, especially this variant... the digital readout combined with striking is excellent. Watches that chime are in their own league IMO
