Thoughts on this Piece

Hey guys.

I got offered a 14060 from a local dealer that is putting it online in a couple days. I don't have any concerns about the authenticity, but wanted to gauge the condition of it.

When looking at it, I found the bezel is slightly used, and the crystal has a chip at the 11 o'clock.

Thanks.

Decent condition. It's a 2 liner....you offer $5k, they'll tell you to go pound sand.
This has got to be closer to $7500ish.

Not a fan of the lower right lug to be honest, looks slimmer.

5k is probably the dealers purchase price.

I wouldn't buy this for any price (too "used" /polished for my taste), but 5K for full set is not going to cut this.

It is a decent piece for a tritium dialed Sub. The lugs look acceptable, IMO. There are far worse examples out there.

I'd pass on that. Its seen some wear and was not polished properly, not that there is anything wrong with polished, but it was a bad job.

I saw that too. Polishing swirls everywhere. I would pass due to that.

Due to condition and box, etc… $5k seem about right. Rolex probably won't service it due to a bad polish job. Chip on bezel, etc...

stay away, awfull polished and one lug way to much thinner as the other 3 lugs. this will annoy you in the future.

look for one with thick lugs, send it to an proper RSC, pay the bill and you start with with a stunning watch and know the movement is repaired to new condition. I worked at an RSC at an AD and had to replace even the slightest marred screws, when in doubt f.e. on a pivot, do not think, replace. this were the guidelines we had, carved in stone. I know there are some less RSC’s but if you go to the right one, your watch comes back in a stunning condition.

with a second hand Rolex, do not go for rock bottom prices but for quality. A good one will sell for good money very quickly, the bad ones, like the one you were offered will not sell fast and those willing to buy it will demand a serious price reduction, like in this thread, maybe worth 7500, but in this condition 5000 would already be to much for me and many other rolex lovers.
