Missing my Sky-Dweller
Sold a watch last year that you may have seen awhile back, this has been by far my favourite watch that I have ever owned.
I wouldn't say I regret selling it, but I just miss wearing it. Was there a watch that you used to own that you miss or even regret selling so dearly?tapatalk_-1513719737_621x414.jpg Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk |

Yep thats an AWESOME watch.
Why did you sell it mate? That one is harder to get now as the romans and arabic dials are all discontinued. I prefer the arabic and roman dial Skydwellers than the stick dials. They look heaps better especially with the contrasting GMT disc |

It was then a Pre Rolex own in-house quartz movement, there was about 16 Swiss companies involved in the development of the first Beta 21 quartz movement. Bulova Accutron paid a high part in development of the step motor, the battery life then was around 12 months. But at this time Rolex could not alter the design of the beta 21 movement,to fit there Oyster case,so only stated the 5100 was water resist and not waterproof, and this was the first Rolex ever with a sapphire crystal.Later Rolex started around 1972 to develop their own in-house movement, but the design was very still close to the beta movement, but now designed to fit a oyster type case and later the unique Oyster-quartz case.

I do not regret selling any watches. All I have to do is look in my watch box and pick another winner to wear or sell. I have no sentimental attachment to inanimate objects, even beautiful watches.

Sold it to a very good friend of mine who was looking for this specific model. He owns a vintage Daytona and a few other fantastic watches that are very hard to find globally. Everyone goes through crazy times (don't want to go in-depth with my life) but I'm just glad to know that I can buy it back off him when the time is right.

I traded in a Breitling Super Ocean Heritage 44mm Chrono with a green bezel as part payment for my Sky Dweller. It was bought for a reason and it had a back story. It was getting zero wrist time, so I went all incisive and outed it. And instantly regretted it.
A Sky Dweller leaves a dirty great space when it goes. I'm not surprised you miss it. You can't miss it when you've got one! |

TRF can be problematic once you buy/sell/trade a watch.
An image of a watch you once owned will pop up in a post, you will start to wonder, then you will start looking in the classifieds, before you know it... It's back on your wrist. It's a fun cycle |

I find it much easier to buy than to sell, so, once they are gone, they are GONE.

I regret selling a couple of Oysterquartz watches several years ago. Didn’t think I’d miss them. Haven’t been able to find any that were in as good condition. My losses were nice gains for others. That’s life sometimes.

For me it was an Oyster BLNR, miss it dearly and would love to acquire a BN example, but I refuse to pay the hefty premium. Instead, I’m trying to procure the BLNR jubilee.
