The bezel teeth is not sharp on my 126610ln

Hi guys, I have bought a 126610ln from a guy that he claimed it’s NOS. But the watch has been sized and more importantly I found that the bezel teeth of the watch is not as sharp as my 116610ln and 126610lv when touched with my finger. The watch was dated May 2021 and I found no scratches at all when I bought it.

Do you guys think the watch could have been refinished? I was paying the NOS price for it and expect to have a new watch…. Below are a few photos for your consideration, thanks. Please comment.

That's a bit of a problem... you bought from some guy... anyway, you're the one with the watch in hand and it's hard to judge from pics alone, but I wouldn't worry too much about that if the watch is really authentic. Great trio BTW. Good luck. Cheers.

Its a little hard to tell in the photos, but the top polished surface of the bezel does appear to be a little rounded off between the bezel teeth. This may be a sign of polishing, but its not definitive. Can you post a close up photo comparison of the bezel teeth?

Does anybody buy these watches to enjoy or to wear anymore?
Or does everyone just bust out the macro lens and immediately try to find microscopic flaws so they can immediately make themselves unhappy with any new purchase?

I don’t think that’s what’s going on here. Just because watches are meant to be worn doesn’t mean people want to find out they were deceived or lied to.

Hard to tell… But judging by the tops of the teeth, definitely looks there are wear marks or handling marks/scratches

It's not NOS

Judge it as you would any other used watch.

gently press your finger against the bezel teeth, then move your finger slowly along the edge. does your finger feel a little pain? if it does, the bezel teeth is ok.

I'm sorry, but a watch that is barely 3 months old cannot be NOS.

OP it's not new, certainly not NOS as it's been from Rolex to an AD to your seller and now you.

If you have concerns can't you just hand it in to local RSC and ask for a service quote? Think costs maybe £150 and they'll cost any repair/replacement parts needed. Obviously if your watch is 'new' then nothing should need doing but you get that reassurance in writing for your money.

The knurling on the Rolex divers has become smoother through the model changes at least my experience. This decreases wet finger grip on the bezel but hey it's not really a tool watch is it?

Looks good to me. They are mass produced. Some variance will occur.

Here’s what I tell myself and I try to stick to it…

Put…..
The…..
Loupe….
Down……..

Just don’t do it. No macros. They won’t make things look better.

Enjoy your wonderful watch.

I have accidentally polished a bezel when i was trying to do a case side and made a mistake. It’s obvious when you polish the underside, or side, or top of the bezel. This is not what a polished bezel looks like IMO.

I do see the difference in the teeth of the bezel. But does not seem to be polished judging solely by the photos. Other aspects of the teeth seem to be crisp.
I would put my money on a design change. But as someone mentioned earlier, take it to a AD or just simply ask them if that is in fact a characteristic of that particular model.
May even look at the catalog and see if it is evident in any of there photos. Just for a piece of mind. Otherwise I would just slap it on my wrist and enjoy it.

I don’t see any issues with those pics. They look normal.

Here is my new 126610LN for reference. Teeth feel perfect and typical Rolex Sub to my fingers.

I would agree with this statement on many recent threads, but to buy a watch represented as new and then have reason to question if it's polished seems like a legit concern.
