I Love FedEx

Well, maybe I'll love them tomorrow when they actually deliver my watch. It arrived at their facility in town today at 10am for scheduled delivery by tonight. Scanned a second time around 11am then again at 12:30p. Sat there all day.

I stopped in on my way home from work at 3pm. Gal confirmed it was in fact there but it's impossible to get to since it's mixed in with 1000 other packages. I offered my services to dig through and locate it was but was denied as she politely laughed at me. I guess it will be delivered tomorrow.

In a world of 5 year wait lists, this is the longest 3 days of my LIFE.

Good luck and stay patient.

I have been in your position many times waiting for FedEx to deliver a watch or material for work. Hopefully, your watch didn’t get lost in the Memphis Black Hole.

Post some photos when it shows up.

Don't count your Fedex before it's hatched. It'll be fine; looking forward to incoming photos.

So….Fedex(and UPS and USPS)has been flawless with their service since I moved into my retirement home last year. Until last Friday. I had some bicycle tires coming from Washington state and tracking showed them “arriving early” at the big city hub a few hours away in the next state. Usually with in hours they are at the distribution station in my area and it said I should get it on Saturday, but then it just sat at the hub. Monday morning it said it had arrived at the local and was on a truck for delivery. Around 11, my doorbell rang and I saw the Fedex truck driving away and a box on my porch. Except it wasn’t for me, someone else about 1/2 mile away, and my package still showed out for delivery. I tried calling a local office which is pretty much impossible, gave up and took the errant package to its rightful owner. Around 6:30 it said my package would be late and it was back at the depot.
Meanwhile, my AD had sent me the overnight tracking # for my new watch(see incoming thread), the day’s performance was not confidence inspiring. The good news is the overnight high value package went through a different route and Tuesday morning it showed being on a truck from a different town. I ended up getting both packages from two different drivers so it all worked out. I speculate that on Monday the driver knew he had a package for my address and simply scanned and dropped off the wrong one. Later in the day, too late to go back, he realizes he still has my package on the truck.
Anyway, good luck OP, I’m sure you’ll see your watch sometime!

We've all been there, a friend of mine used to actually be notorious for using the UPS "track my package live" feature where you could see the truck on the map, dude used to stop the truck for his iPhone.

FedEx is hot garbage. Never believe any state delivery date they give you.

Good luck sleeping.

This is the way my SS Daytona was delivered. Crushed and soaking wet. Driver walks up my walkway and says “we have a problem with your package.” “Is it allowed to get submerged in water”?

Watch and “Box n papers” just fine. How’s that for overnight delivery drama…..

Yikes! Good thing the sender had packed it so thoroughly. I once paid over $200 for an original edition of Driving Ambition(official history of the McLaren F1 road car)and either Fedex or UPS left it sitting on my trash can next to my driveway rather than the back porch 20’ away. It rained and the package was wet, thankfully no real damage to the book which would have been very hard to replace.

I've had several FedEx deliveries from DavidSW over the years and only one was a heart stopper. Tracking showed "Delivered". Since I had to sign for the package I knew this was a problem!! Tracked down the delivery guy and got things sorted. He had bundled my package with several others all going to another address.

No worries. Rolex is waterproof. What counts is that it arrived. a little moist.

Lots of stories and drama! I’ve had my share. Your watch will be fine OP. This is the world’s way of making sure you are able to develop patience. You are getting some practice.

What a mess! That’s next level. Glad everything was ok.

These stories are making me feel a lot better, thanks. I’m sure they’ll pull through.

I’ve also purchased before from DSW and it was at my door before 10am next day. He’s doing well enough the last 5 years he’s probably hired his own delivery crew of ex-special ops to get the job done right and ahead of schedule.

Imagine a camo’d out delivery guy running maneuvers up your driveway, ducking behind a bush… pulls up his sleeve to check the time on a rose gold AP Royal Oak Tourbillon (obviously to ensure the most precise delivery time) and leaves the delivery tag nailed to your door via a sword hand off a vintage Mil-Sub.

Yes, but was more worried the Box/papers might have gotten wet but knew the actual watch could take it.

It was purchased from one of our trusted sellers Takuya who knows how to send a watch for just these circumstances. My last purchase Sub41LV from Thanh arrived perfect. Just to give the OP peace of mind, out of dozens of watches sent over the years, the Daytona this past October was the only shipment that was in rough condition.

Delivered before noon/on time.

I tend to prefer DHL for international shipments but it seems many overseas watch dealers prefer FedEx.

UPS has lost some expensive things before at their hub in Kentucky so I actively avoid buying things from overseas that use UPS now.

I had a DHL scare a while back when a package that was worth around $6000 says it was delivered but it clearly wasn't.

I rushed to the local DHL hub and apparently the driver had marked it as delivered but left it in his truck. Not sure if it was intentional or not.

FedEx left a Vacheron 5500V in my driveway. Unattended for about 12 minutes. The longest of my life.

It's really anxiety inducing thinking of everything that can go wrong with a package.

I have one coming Friday and I’m nervous. First I live in an island and they hate coming there. Second I have two working dogs and they hate the dogs. Sometime they just kinda don’t show up. I’m nervous as a cat in front of two working dogs.

I Love FedEx

Try bringing a plate of cookies next time. I had a similar but better ending FedEx story. My daughter shipped me a package, it got to a facility close by me and sat a few days and then went back to her state to a facility near her. It sat a few days and then made its way back to the one near by. It was an early version USB mifi I needed for a work trip the next day. So I drove to the facility, it didn't have customer pickup, just a warehouse. I went in and pled my case to the facility manager. He looked it up and saw the ping pong. Then we walked across the warehouse, he busted open a seal on a trailer and we went in and five mins later I was on my way out with the package.

BTW, I did not bring cookies

It is special. Like it just came out if a time capsule from 1998. I’m over the moon.
