LA Watch Works - Thoughts

Hello,

I was thinking to get my watch freshened up by these folks. Am I mistaken, or a few years ago there were some issues with them? Or, was it another restoration company?

Anybody have recent experiences with them in 2020 or 2021? I just want to make sure before sending my watch to them.

There were some issues with ABC Watchwerks, some of whose employees went to (or started) LAWW. Google has quite a few results.

Ah, okay. I assume I am in good hands with LAWW then?

Can't say, never used them, but I believe their reputation is solid.

Used them last year to refinish the platinum bezel of my former Yachtmaster; excellent work !

I used LAWW to service a stainless Daytona with a pusher issue. I requested no polish and it was one of the best service experiences I’ve had. They’re great.

I’ve used them several times for casework. Beau is as good as any in the business. Eric Ku is an owner. You have nothing to worry about with them.

LA Watch Works - Thoughts

They are fantastic for high end and vintage watches. Personally send a lot of my watches to them.

LA Watch Works

What is the best way to contact LAWW? I've tried calls and emails, both have gone unanswered. I'm trying to have them restore the case on my 16550 Explorer II. Photo of the worst of the dents are in the photo below. Please also let me know if I should try and inquire with anyone else on this repair.

Thank you for the consideration.

Bumping an old thread. I wonder how many Daytonas @GB-man has brushed since this thread was made.

I ended up getting a watch done by them a few months ago. They did great work!

They managed to keep the bezel crisp so it still feels as sharp as it did prior to the polish, which is nice. They did polish the bracelet as well but specified that is not their specialty. It still looks great to me!

They refinished my 114060 around early-2021 before I purchased it and it was done flawlessly. Further, they managed to refinish it without blunting any of the edges or lines on the watch, so it still looked sharp. I would definitely trust them with my watch.
