New 5212a

I’ve posted a handful of times in the past month looking for advice about consolidation and getting into a 5212a either through the AD or secondary market. As an update, I purchased this from a secondary source and received today!

I ended up trading an Explorer ii polar and Yacht Master 42 to get into it. As my collection is heavy towards Rolex and sports pieces, I think the decision was a good one.

I’ll be excited to wear this with some regularity. Not to get too philosophical, but in my opinion this watch demonstrates the passage of time in a way that is hard to not contemplate. I wonder if the concentric rings of days, weeks and months will have a way of making me reflect on the year thus far and weeks to come before year end (family, work, personal goals, etc.) I’m not in a profession that utilizes a weekly calendar but I’m looking forward this one.

Thanks all for your prior input!

Splendid piece - many congrats! If you explore alternative straps - I’d thoroughly recommend a blue calf or suede…really works well. Enjoy the new piece…wear it well!

Congrats! Love the 5212 and it's quirkiness. I'm on the waitlist with my AD for this piece. I would play with different color and material straps as I think that dial can handle many different combinations. Enjoy!

I love the dial. Here's mine on a 5172 blue strap and 5935a SS deployant.

I just love it. As I was previously advised, it works so well with many strap combinations. Currently wearing on a yellow Camille Fournet.

It depends on your relationship or connections. But, yes, it is possible.
