126655 YM40 pavé

I inquired about this model at the AD the other day. The owner mentioned his uncle owns this watch, says it’s great however the diamonds don’t shine as much due to being under the sapphire crystal. Has anyone seen this dial in person? Thinking about adding myself to the waitlist. Really love the extra pop it adds to the YM40, thinking it’s low key unless youre having a close look at it to notice the diamonds. The newer 126655 has the larger clasp with the glidelock which is a clutch upgrade. I’m also wondering if theres good value here maybe in the grey market but they don’t come up too often. Any thoughts?

ps anyone know why ym40’s seem to never have the bezel aligned in the FS photos? Do they get loose overtime? Doesn’t happen with the sub.

I was offered this recently. I like diamonds. But I don’t like them with rubber.

How was it IRL? Were the diamonds shining like the RBR bezels on the day dates?

I saw one in the case a few years ago. It was pretty shiny in the case but not as much as I expected. Probably one of the more subdued “blingy” watches. Normally something like this wouldn’t interest me because of all the diamonds but I actually liked it

I always get a vibe of black rubber fishing boots with a tuxedo. Great on their own but together just seems wrong.

I love diamonds, but find this to be a peculiar combo. That said, it does have a certain wry irreverence to it ... but also sort of looks like it's come out of a cereal box? Jury's out here.

Not my cup of tea.

I don’t have an answer to your bezel question OP.

I like it but wouldn’t say a full gold paved watch as low key. I say Do it!

This goes below retail, if you added a metal bracelet it would be crazy expensive like the DD40 pave dials. I like the value prop for this.

I own this piece, but mine is 116655, not the 126 ones. If you buy from Grey, it would be much cheaper than the AD+ tax. I see it differently from other comments. I think this one is the best combo for the Oysterflex YM; the plain black dial is just too quiet. This one has added the wow factors. From a far distance, someone might see it as a meteorite dial, and in natural light, it looks so stunning. It might be a bit hard to read the time, but who cares? It looks super cool. This is one of my favorite pieces ever. It's also one of the most affordable paved dial that Rolex offers. If you look through the threads that I started, I even wrote about this piece when I first got it. I have had it for almost a year and still never get bored. It doesn't need to be worn with a nice suit; I wear it with a t-shirt and shorts all the time. If you really like them, just get it while it's still under the retail price and thank me later. Side note; Patrick Mahomes wore them when he celebrated the Super Bowl too, and LeBron James has worn them so is Naymar Jr.

The watch is pretty. The strap is awful. All Yachtmasters should be on bracelets. In fact, all Rolexes should be on bracelets. Just my opinion, of course.

Really? That’s awesome, haven’t had a chance to see it in person. The diamonds go hard even under the sapphire crystal?

It's a beautiful watch, not for me but that doesn't matter.
The only Rolex I want with diamonds is a Plat DD 40 with the Glacier Blue Baguette diamonds and Fluted bezel. The diamonds almost vanish into that dial

Have seen/tried on this one and the one with coloured bezel a couple of times, I don't find the dial too subdued at all. In daylight/outside it's a nice sparkle.

OP, that watch is a lot of things, but "low key" certainly isn't one of them.

This is good looking IMO. If you love it and have the opportunity….
I’ve seriously contemplated getting the gem set bezel, black dial version, for a while now.

I would be the first one on the list if they offered this with a full RG bracelet. Rubber and diamonds just do go IMHO

The price would almost double vs it being below retail right now. I I like the value a lot. The DD40 pave is great too but rare.
