First Ding

Banged my watch on the seatbelt clip in my car. It’s only a month old so a little sad to see a chink in the armor. Hopefully it doesn’t look too bad. Still committed to wearing it daily and honestly I feel much less pissed than I expected I would.

I finally have a unique datejust :).

The first is the worst. Your watch is now unique.

All the watches I like the most are the most bashed up. None are seriously damaged, but if you wear them they will occasionally come into contact with the world, which IMO is preferable to only coming into contact with the inside of a safe or a watch box.

Should have seen my 16600 SD after 5 long years working as a real tool watch underwater think you might of had a heart attack. But all scratches easily rectified at normal RSC service time, only to get scratched again in normal wearing.

Hard to see in your photo, but they do happen. Check out any well-worn older watch. They look very nice.

I can't see the damage to your watch in the blurry photograph you attached but I assume that it is minorly displeasing.

I tapped my watch on a little display sign on a desk…. I wanted to burn the building down. But then I got over it 4 months later :)

First ding on my SD43 was from my seat belt clip also. I am over it now, but still remember how it felt.

Take a photo from farther away, because you won't get a decent pic that close unless you're using a telephoto lens. If it's a truly awful ding, it will show up in a photo taken from farther away. If it doesn't show up, it means the ding isn't worth worrying about.
