Is this bracelet stretch okay, or should I be looking into getting this serviced?

Hello! I am admittedly a bit dumb and haven't been sufficiently cleaning my watch regularly since I got it almost 6 years ago. I am very gentle in how I wear it, but I do wear it every day.

I just gave it a really good clean and a lot of grey gunk came out.

I have attached pictures of the bracelet, as well as a comparison between the bracelet links now, and the links that were taken off at the time of purchase.

Any advice I could get would be greatly appreciated

Thank you!

Hi, I think it looks fine and there's zero to very little stretch on your bracelet.

This is a relief because I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve cleaned my watch, and even those times were just like a light brush with a toothbrush and water or a wipe with a dry towel to get off the visible gunk lol

Thanks so much for everyone’s replies! I am so relieved. I was horrified to read that people recommend cleaning your watch every week and I’d only done it a handful of times in the last 6 years

Clean your watch frequently my friend. It doesn't ask anything from you and gives you dependable service. Take care of it and clean it often.... even if just a toothbrush and warm water. I have done that everyday with whatever watch I was wearing. It prevents buildup of skin oils and other gunk. Small thing but big benefit to the watch.

Don’t worry I will definitely be starting that habit! It was actually so satisfying seeing all that stuff come off haha
Thank you!

The contributors to stretch were hollow links, grime buildup, and loose fitting. The new bracelets, like yours, are solid metal (not folded and hollow). So, even with the presence of dirt and metal grinding due to it moving loosely on your wrist, it'll take a long time of abuse to notice significant stretch.

That bracelet hardly shows any stretch. Cleanliness helps by cleaning away abrasive dirt that accumulates.
I believe the biggest factor accelerating bracelet stretch is wearing the watch too loosely. Wearing it snug enough so that it remains above your wrist bone is ideal.

Leave it as is, no problem. Do keep it clean though.
