Batman discontinued?
Only Rolex will know. The rest of us, including ADs will find out on April 9th.
I was advised by one AD that Rolex were struggling with the production of the BLRO bezel so had increased production on the BLNRs - i.e. the opposite of what you’re hearing. Take with a pinch of salt obviously, but goes to show no one really knows... My guess is that it wont, so I'd stick on the list. |

IMO it will be. All the hype and distraction with Pepsi issues.
Batty has been around 10+years. Pepsi, sprite, and the new Bruce Wayne or Coke returns. |

No one knows but it will be the 80th anniversary of the GMT so anything is possible. We have been blindsided before. No one including the AD knows anything before hand.
My gut says if any GMT gets discontinued it will be the BLNR because of it being THE first to have a bi-color ceramic bezel and has been out the longest. The BLRO/Pepsi isnt going anywhere as its only been out since 2018. We will see.

Not even a whisper of smoke. AD claims they won’t discontinue VTNR or BLNR this year. |

No matter what, if there IS another watch that interests you, I would definitely put your name down for that one as well. No sense limiting yourself to only one. Your AD can definitely add multiple pieces to your wanted list. |

Make sense to flip the Blue to Red for the anniversary. Would love to see a full blue bezel gmt in white gold or platinum.

Batman has been out for fair amount of time, over 10 years so could be the ten year point to discontinue

No, do not change anything with your AD until you/we see what’s truly up with the next releases this Spring.

Let’s think about the rumors and how it might support a new GMT for the 80th anniversary:
Let’s say Rolex did slow down the BLRO because of some bezel production issue. Could this mean that they were working on a Coke red and black bezel??? This is very possible and why they would have to divert away from the BLRO temporary because of the red dye lots and formulas. This would also support why we saw more BLNR being released at this time. It also might be Rolex’s way of using up their inventory of BLNR in sending the BLNR off to being discontinued for the new upcoming GMT Coke…….???

My theory is they did slow down the production of the BLRO and if rumours are to be believed this was due to problems they were having manufacturing the bezel. Who knows why after so many years in production, perhaps they were trying to finesse the colours even more on a mk 4 bezel…? As the bezel was the only part of the watch that there was an issue with, and the production of the watch movement/head/bracelet etc was unaffected, more BLNR bezels were produced and added to the ready and waiting watches. I’ve often wondered why a Coke hasn’t been released in ceramic already - maybe they have been saving for a special milestone. I’d understood the difficulty with the BLRO is the mix of blue and red, but this isn’t a problem with the BLNR as the black simply covers over any trace of blue. Couldn’t they do the same with a red bezel, cover half of it with black? |

The Yachtmaster II and Palm dials have ceased production. I realise that no one will believe this,God and Rolex etc, so you can take it or leave it!

The BLRO in fact was slowed down from my observations over the last 2-3months. I was watching all our trusted sellers for 2 months while deciding on a BLNR. I was in the GMT sales section almost every day for 2 months. I watched the BLRO dry up but also rise in price because of the speculation fueling sales of what was out there. I suspect the BLRO prices will settle back down after the 2024 if it is left untouched. If a new Coke is introduced, it will divert a lot of sales/interest from the Pepsi which will also keep prices in check. In general all the GMT’s have rose in price quicker over the last 3 months compared to other models. I see this trend as we approach the 2024 anticipation of the 80th GMT anniversary.

Side note was very disappointed with the Submariner Anniversary only subtle change to the green bezel .. so will there really be that big a deal with the GMT ? 1954 was the first blue/red iteration, and 2014 Cerachrom bezel, yet 2023 Rolex are struggling for the colour scheme ? I just don’t see it ..
I’d prefer it if the GMT had a new colour formation, green and yellow .. blue and purple .. orange and blue ..

It could happen especially if the plan is to produce a coke bezel GMT. The BLNR is my favorite SS version.

White gold coke.
Sprite comes in righty. Black SS makes a come back with special dial, replacing BLNR. Yes, you heard it here first. And I pulled it out of my . |

I say more power to them.

I wouldn’t bet on it. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see changes to the GMT line up.

I think it will be. Ten years as the first bi color bezel Rolex. 70th year anniversary could be a perfect time to change, to what is fun to guess. Personally I think the Sprite will stop as well.

I just don’t think they’ll have the Pepsi and Coke offered at the same time again. They are just to similar. They’ve positioned the Pepsi as second fiddle only to the SS Daytona. Given the coloration of the current Pepsi, having a Pepsi and Coke together is just too similar. IMO, the only way a Coke is released, is if the Pepsi is discontinued or PM only.
