What was the longest time you've stayed up consecutively?
I've officially stayed up for 50 hours as of today, and finally got a few hours of sleep just now.
I started work on an Economics essay on Sunday morning, and stayed up all the way until this morning (Tuesday) just in time to submit a 12,000 word paper. Trust me, Red Bull/ Espresso shots really work! |

Not sure.... probably only about 60-70 hours....
Still ended up more grizzled and surly than I normally am. On some occasions I've had to pull an all-nighter at work due to other people's lack of work, but now I just refuse. I'm not going to kill myself by falling asleep while driving home because I was up working for peanuts.

Been a long time since I've pulled an all nighter or pulled a couple back to back.
In recent times I would say about 40 hours last year. We messed up on booking a flight back from Vegas, caught the red eye, then drove home from Seattle. Then slept for about 48 hours straight. I only ever did One all nighter for school studying. That was even done on the sole purpose of saying that I pulled an allnigter studying.

Yeah me too. I found that a good nights sleep always helped better than cramming. It's just me.... If I don't know much about something, I can bluff a bit if I'm thinking clearly, but if I'm stressed and tired I just can't do anything

108 hours up and down the hills of Taiwan on a battalion exercise. During my undergrad days, I'd usually cram for 72 hours, do the exam and crash for about 12 hours.

Otherwise, pulled about 48 hours once about 15 years ago. We were trying to finish writing and filing 40 patent applications in two days for a client in order to build an instant patent portfolio for them. There were four of us who worked non-stop. I had a crash course in learning how to use a computer (early Mac). Fun times back then.

I like to stay awake for 1-2 days at a time. It keeps me on my toes (now that I`m actually writting this I can understand it sounds too... weird). The more you stay awake, the more you feel like you don`t need sleep... I LOVE those hyper moments... |

Someone I know once worked for 96 hours troubleshooting a 'mission critical' control system.
No more than a couple of hours sleep maximum with about 30 red bulls and 12 Ginsters Max pasties for nutrition.

There was a time back in the ski biz, where I had to drive from Toronto to Thunder Bay to attend the World XC ski championships. My buddy was coming from Ottawa, so I got up at 6 a.m. and my (then) GF and I drove two hours to a ski resort so that my 'ride' could zip across the Trans Canada Highway, instead of coming south to get me.
I skiied all day, my ride picked me up at 5 p.m., we drove all night (me driving most of the way on the north shore of Superior) and arrived in TB around 8 a.m. We then checked into the event, worked all day long, went for a 5km ski in the late afternoon, had dinner, went to a party and I got to sleep around 2 a.m. - so that's 44 hours of non-stop action. That whole week comprised of waking at 6 a.m., working all day (and into the night as ski jumping is at night only - calmer winds -) then partying until 2 a.m. - 10 days of that. It was fun, but exhausting. |
