How often should I wind my watch

Just put my explorer away for awhile just to let some others get some wrist time but not automatics should I wind it up or leave it? If wind how often should I do it. Many thanks in advance.

wind it when you wear it......if you aren't going to wear it for a long while, wind once a month.

Whenever you feel like it. I went about 30 years before I first wound mine.

All depends on how much you wear it.

I was advised by directly by RUSA rep to manually wind once per week whether you are wearing the watch daily or not.

I would only wind it up if you were planning on wearing it. If not, I would not worry about it until you are ready to put her back on

wind your watch whenever. i know watchmakers who also sell watches, and just leave them in the boxes, or display cases. next?

I had a few general care questions after purchasing a Rolex for my wife. This tip was offered by the RUSA rep after I asked about keeping it on a winder when not being worn. Her response was :

"The worst thing for the watch is to let is stop. Rolex watches are designed to stay moving all the time. You also want to manually wind the watch once per week even if you wear it every day."

In a nutshell- the reasoning was it keeps the oils/lubes working properly.
